About Matthew Weideman
Matthew Weideman is a lifelong nerd who has always had a passion for writing. As a kid, he was always writing fictional stories set in the world of Pokemon or Star Wars, or building worlds of his own.
Matthew's passions did not fade as he grew up, but he has worn many hats over the years. He is a high school Spanish teacher by day and List Article Writer for TheBestWarGames by night. He brings years of experience with writing, editing, public speaking, and even translation/interpretation to the work he does.
Favorite Games
I have been drawn to RPGs ever since a friend of mine urged me to pick up Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion in high school.
Since then, I've put thousands of hours into series like Fallout, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and The Witcher.
It's no surprise that Baldur's Gate 3, then, is my current favorite game.
Favorite Console
It might be nostalgia, but the Xbox 360 is probably my favorite console of all time. I got one in high school, just as I was really connecting with a group of friends that I'm still very close to.
The 360 was our console of choice from that point all the way through college, so many of my fondest gaming memories are from those days.
Favorite Movies
Growing up, I was a big fan of any kind of movies set in worlds apart from our own. I fell in love with the Star Wars movies in particular as a young kid (partly because my uncle and other family members liked them) and the original trilogy remains one of the series I rewatch the most.
My other favorite series is The Lord of the Rings, a trilogy that I watch at least once a year in an extended edition marathon, which I have also seen in theaters back-to-back multiple times.
