About Matt Vatankhah

Matt is a sicko for retro FPS games, fighting games, Metroidvanias, roguelikes, and RPGs. Some of his current favorite games include the Final Fantasy series, Street Fighter 6, Slay the Spire, Path of Exile, and, most recently, Deadlock. Despite being a boomer by today’s standards, he will absolutely stomp you in Tetris.

An avid video game music fan, Matt collects vinyl of his favorite game soundtracks and once remixed a Final Fantasy VI song with the Nas classic “Made You Look.”

Matt started his career in games media as a guides writer in 2022, later becoming an editor in 2024. He's written reviews, news, and features, but he really enjoys creating guides. Matt's had a passion for video games all of his life, spanning back to when he first held a Super Nintendo controller in his hands and throughout every generation that would follow.

Favorite Console

Matt's favorite console of all time is the original Sony PlayStation, both for the technological leaps it made for gaming and the enormous library of timeless classics that came with it.
