About Julián Jorge Fernández Loyarte

Julián F.L. is a video game & anime expert, historian & journalist with a lot of passion for these subjects and over 10 years of experience in writing about them.
He has enjoyed video games, anime, and writing ever since he was young, so he set out to turn professional writing about both mediums into his full-time career, and it has been quite fruitful.
He has been working at TheBestWarGames for over 2 years, worked as a lead writer and editor at Anmo Sugoi, and served as a freelance contributor for Destructoid and GameMite for many months.
Furthermore, he knows every single Pokemon by memory, has profound knowledge of the lore of Kingdom Hearts, has watched/read One Piece in its entirety, and has managed not one but two different YouTube channels focused on video games and anime, both with over 10,000 subscribers each.

Favorite Anime

One Piece is my absolute favorite anime/manga series, since it features a colorful cast of complex characters, multiple unique and creative power systems, a gripping narrative and one of the most detailed worlds ever created in fiction. I'm a strong believer that the entire world will change the day One Piece reaches its conclusion.
I'm also a big fan of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach.

Favorite Games

Kingdom Hearts is my favorite gaming franchise, with Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix being my overall favorite video game.
This feels like a game
designed specifically for me: A deep and flashy combat system, excellent boss fights, an emotional storyline, colorful Disney worlds and a beautiful soundtrack. I've already replayed KH2FM over 10 times (and counting).
Some of my other favorite video game franchises include: Pokemon, Devil May Cry, Crash Bandicoot, The Legend of Zelda and Mario.

Industry Focus

I have been writing in a professional capacity for over 10 years, and most of my writing has been focused on specific video game franchises and genres, including Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Crash Bandicoot, and countless more.
I also have an in-depth interest in general video game history, going from generation to generation, analyzing which consoles left a huge impact on the medium and which ones failed to sell enough units (my thesis in college was a full breakdown of the history of gaming).
On top of all that, I'm also extremely passionate and knowledgeable about anime, specifically battle shōnen series, and I have watched/read series like One Piece, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, My Hero Academia, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, and more.
