Emily is a writer at The Best War Games. She's been writing about games for more than 5 years freelance and full-time, with an inclination for putting guides together. She graduated with a Masters in Media Studies in 2021, which she used to learn more about the games industry and how it works.

Most of the time, you can find her playing RPGs, FPS games, and platformers, but she's particularly drawn to anything with a good story or that lets her blow things up in a spectacular way. 

Favorite Games

Emily grew up playing RTS games, which still holds a special place for her. Now, she also absolutely loves The Witcher series, the Ori games, DOOM, Fallout, Disco Elysium, Baldur's Gate, Don't Starve, Assassin's Creed (Ezio's trilogy mainly), Phasmophobia, Stardew Valley, BioShock, The Last of Us, God of War, and unknown horror gems.

Outside single-player games, she puts most of her time into grinding Destiny 2 and trying to suck less at Apex Legends. 

Proudest Gaming Achievement

There are many moments Emily can pick out, as she used to play Overwatch competitively and caused some solid upsets with the team she captained.

Personally, ranking in the top 100 in her region for Gwent: The WItcher Card Game was also a great moment. 

Outside competitive games, though, her proudest moment was being able to play through her first horror game alone, and now she regularly runs no-evidence and no-sanity sessions in Phasmophobia. 

Favorite TV Shows

Despite her game taste being on a bit of the darker side, Emily loves TV Shows like Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn 99, and Superstore to pass the time (and for the rewatch value).

Otherwise, she was ecstatic about how great the Fallout and The Last of Us TV Shows were and can't wait to see how the upcoming seasons perform.
