About Dylan Whitehall
Dylan is currently a student pursuing a degree in creative writing, a journey started thanks to his passion of both telling and experiencing stories. A lot of the inspiration for his work stems from horror games like Resident Evil, Dead Space and Inscryption. He loves the horror genre not just for its gruesome concepts and the ability to put players on edge, but because of the blood soaked messages it delivers. Interspersed between spooky games, Dylan also enjoys RPGs like Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring as well as strategy games like Total War: Warhammer 3.
Naturally, a lot of Dylan’s spare time is spent writing short horror stories and novels that he hopes to publish in the future. He also enjoys taking part in larger literary projects, like helping to publish student magazines and short story anthologies.
One of his life-long goals is to hoard enough books that his office qualifies as a library!
Favorite Console
Playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 zombies on the Xbox 360 consumed the majority of my childhood. I have fond memories of staying up until the early hours of the morning to grind easter eggs or make it to the highest round possible. For that the Xbox 360 will probably always be my favourite and most nostalgic console.
Proudest Gaming Achievement
Making it through Soma without letting its existential nightmare of a story send me into an unrecoverable spiral of depression!
Industry Focus
While I enjoy playing and writing about a diverse range of video games, at The Best War Games I want to focus my attention on horror indie games that deserve a little more light to be shone on them.
