About Colin Leggett

Colin Leggett is The Best War Games's Movies & TV editor. He is an avid film fan and a dedicated viewer of multiple television and streaming series. He has been writing and curating Movie and TV content for The Best War Games since December 2020. While he has seen so many great films over his life, his favorite remains John Carpenter's The Thing.

Industry Focus

Colin is focused mainly on the film and television industries. This includes staying up to date on the newest theatrical and streaming releases, as well as long-running and newly-premiering series. In addition, Colin is regularly checking the pulse of Hollywood, staying on top of movies in development, casting news, and behind-the-scenes drama.

Favorite Movies

The Thing - This movie is an absolute masterclass in tension, coupled with some truly incredible practical effects and an all-time score from Ennio Morricone.
Wayne's World - When it comes to absurd comedies, there's almost none that have done it better. Wayne's World has also aged surprisingly well, and is still fit for a rewatch in 2024.
The Shawshank Redemption - A lot of people would rank this pretty high on their favorites, but with its endearing message of hope in the bleakest of situations, it's hard not to include it.
Inglorious Basterds - Potentially Tarantino's best movie (hot take), this violent, comedic, and tense war fable stands with some of the best WWII movies there are.
Everything Everywhere All At Once - Maybe it's recency bias, but this Best Picture winner is still one of the weirdest, funniest, and most touching movies out there, filled to the brim with imaginative filmmaking and standout performances.

Favorite TV Shows

The Simpsons - There's definitely more bad than good Simpsons at this point, but no one can deny the incredible run from seasons 3 through 8. Those alone make this one of the best shows of all time.
Bob's Burgers - A worthy successor to The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers has not lost any momentum in its 12-plus seasons. It's the perfect encapsulation of a quirky family and the excellent music takes it over the top.
The Bear - This show hasn't been around that long, but it's already made an indelible mark on the media landscape. Never has a show better depicted the ravages of anxiety and depression, along with the incomparable stress of working in a kitchen.
Severance - Another recent show that has already made a huge impression, Severance is a near-perfect modern sci-fi mystery. The worldbuilding and characterization throughout is stunningly brilliant, and Adam Scott's lead performance is excellent.
The Boys - In the age of superhero fatigue, no show better satirizes the world of capes and cowls than The Boys. It's bloody, vulgar, and over-the-top in all the best ways.
