How To Play Wordle
Wordle is a browser-based game that requires players to guess a mystery five-letter word every day. In order to play, word puzzle fans just need to grab just about any device that connects to the internet. Currently, there is no need to log in to the NYTs website, and it is still free-to-play, but this may change. Here are the rules of the game:
Choose a starting Wordle word. This word should be five-letters long, a real English word, and should contain a good distribution of common letters. Type the chosen word into the Wordle website and press enter. Then the letters will change colors to give players some clues to the real answer of the day.
- Green letters are right and in the right place in the word.
- Yellow letters are right but in the wrong place in the word.
- Gray letters won't appear in the answer.
Afterwards, players will need to come up with a new five-letter word given these clues. Once a second word is typed into the site, the letters of this word is also change colors, helping the player to get even closer to the answer. Continue to put in words until there are no more tries left, or until the answer is guessed. Puzzles reset daily at midnight local time every day.
