Wordle was one of the most viral games of early 2022. Its popularity flooded social media with those little green and yellow boxes, and it became so popular that Wordle was purchased by the New York Times Games. This is still where the original is hosted to this day. There are tons of copycats all over the internet, but this is the one that this article will be about.

First, head to the NYT Games Wordle site. Next, choose a starting word. It should:

Be a five-letter English word.
Be filled with commonly used letters in Wordle puzzles.
Not be a proper noun.
Not be one of the offensive words removed by the NYTs when it was purchased.

Once a great starting word is chosen, type it into the first row of the 5x6 grid on the Wordle site. Press enter. The boxes containing each of the five letters of the starting word will change colors, giving players a few clues as to the real answer. Here are what the colors mean:

Green are correct.
Gray are incorrect.
If the letter box becomes yellow, that means the letters is in the word, but it is currently in the wrong position or positions.

Given these clues, keep trying new words and getting more clues until the word is guessed, or the player runs out of the six total tries they get. There is only one Wordle puzzle per day, and it resets daily at midnight local time.
