The hype is building up towards the first half of Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3, which had its main trailer and opening theme artist revealed this past Saturday. A special live-stream held for the upcoming installment in the Attack on Titan: The Final Season series revealed the main trailer, as well as the visual from the opening theme "Under the Tree" performed by SiM, who returns after performing the opening theme of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 titled, "The Rumbling".

The first half of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 is set to air on March 3 as a one-hour special episode, with the second half to come later this year, which builds the anticipation (and chagrin) of fans across the globe.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 is expected to air on NHK like the seasons before it, and starting on Saturday, February 25, the channel will be airing a seven-part compilation anime for three nights in anticipation for the big day in March.

The trailer reveal also came with art for "Under the Tree", which features main character Mikasa Ackermann with her trademark red scarf that she got from Eren as a child held at arm's length as she gazes blankly into the distance. The bottom of the frame is splashed with red silhouette-like accents that are reminiscent of blood, while directly above her head, a red feather is seen falling.

The Attack on Titan anime series is based on the manga created by Hajime Isayama and originally published in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from 2009 to 2021. The first season of the anime premiered in April 2013, running for 25 episodes until September that year.

It would be a four-year wait before the return of the series with season 2, which ran for twelve episodes from April to June 2017. The third season of Attack on Titan was split into two equal parts, with the first running for twelve episodes between June and October 2018, and the second running from April to July 2019.

The Attack on Titan: The Final Season series began airing in Winter 2020/2021, running for sixteen episodes from December 2020 to March 2021. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed The Final Season as it aired, with the latter producing an English dub for the series which premiered in January 2021. Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 2 arrived in the Winter of 2022, running for twelve episodes from January to April 2022, again with Crunchyroll and Funimation streaming the series as it aired in Japan.
