Mundfish, the developer of Atomic Heart, has finally revealed more details about the upcoming third DLC, including a new character named Nastya. The first-person shooter set in an alternate history post-apocalyptic Russia released in February 2023 to mixed reviews. But for those who enjoyed Atomic Heart, it’s been exciting as the four promised DLC slowly trickle out in the years following the game’s initial launch.
So far, there have been two expansions released for the game, with the first, “Annihilation Instinct,” taking players to the days following the end of the main story. Its content centered around NORA, the artificial intelligence that normally occupies the machines used by protagonist P-3 to manage his inventory and upgrade weapons. The second Atomic Heart DLC dragged players back into Limbo, a slightly psychedelic manifestation of the melded subconscious of P-3 and his late wife, Ekaterina.
Big New Atomic Heart DLC Coming January 28
Focus Entertainment and developer Mundfish reveal more details about Atomic Heart's new DLC, launching on January 28 for all platforms.
Switching course from “Trapped in Limbo,” Atomic Heart’s third DLC will return to more solid ground, kind of. Releasing on January 28, 2025, “Enchantment Under the Sea” has already been teased by developer Mundfish for a few months. The studio has shared screenshots, a gameplay trailer, and now an image of a new character called Nastya, a bespectacled redhead whose expression implies that she’s more than capable of surviving in the chaotic world of Atomic Heart.
Atomic Heart DLC 3 Will Feature at Least One New Character, Nastya
From the trailer, fans learn that P-3 is again the protagonist, as a clip of his narration can be heard. Granny, or Zinaida Muravyova, makes a return in “Enchantment Under the Sea” as well. And viewers also catch a glimpse of P-3’s new glove in Atomic Heart, replacing Charles, that has previously been revealed to give him access to two new abilities: Blaze, which launches fireballs that do AOE damage, and Whip, a grappling hook that also doubles as a weapon. Additionally, Mundfish revealed that, as expected, season pass owners will get their hands on two new weapons: an electrified hammer called the Thunderclap and a double-barrel shotgun with customizable spread, the KM-4 Kuzmich.
Of course, the third Atomic Heart DLC will introduce some new enemies for players to test their new glove and weapons out on. As its name implies, “Enchantment Under the Sea” will pull P-3 underwater to the Neptune Research Center, where he will encounter foes like coral mutants and what sounds like a boss, the MOR-4Y. Players will also get to revisit locations from the main game like Chelomey and witness how things have changed now that the robots are in control.
