How To Start Mother Jago & Druid Ending In Atomfall
To unlock the Mother Jago ending, Atomfall players must, of course, first locate Mother Jago herself. There are several characters who will give you hints at Mother Jago's location, and in Casterfell Woods, you can interact with any note labelled "Lost Your Way?" To pick up a Lead that guides you northward.
In the far north of Casterfell Woods, you will find Mother Jago at the Old Mine at coordinates 27.2E, 92.2N – a location a short walk to the east of the northern tip of the path that splits the zone vertically.
Talk to Mother Jago and she will ask you to retrieve her book that was stolen by the local Druids.
Where To Find Mother Jago's Book
Mother Jago's Book can be found within the castle at the Druid Camp, in the far southwest of Casterfell Woods at coordinates 20.0E, 84.2N. The Druid Castle is a well-fortified area, rife with cultish followers of The Voice (not the one on the phone), so be sure to bring plenty of ammo, a strong melee weapon, and lots of healing methods or materials to craft Bandages on the fly.
Atomfall: How To Get & Use The Metal Detector
A Metal Detector is needed in order to find hidden caches and lunchboxes in Atomfall. Here's how to get and use one.
Grenades are very useful here. Hide in some tall grass, toss a grenade at a pack of Druids, and you'll thin out the herd, as it were, without revealing your location. You can also easily stealth past most enemies in this area thanks to the sheer number of hiding spots, tall grass, and other sneaky pathways through the base camp.
Mother Jago's Book can be found within the Druid Castle itself. You can also find the Strange Tonic Recipe in the castle.
- If you enter through the main gates, you will need to get the Castle Key to open a secret door behind the fireplace in the feast hall. This key can be found in the kitchen area of the explorable front part of the castle.
- Alternatively, head through the side entrance through the Castle Ruins via a wooden door to the southwest of the main entrance. Follow the caves, watch out for Druids (and the High Priest), and you will loop back around to the rear of the fireplace.
Either way, once you get behind the fireplace, look in the side rooms connected to the overgrown secret courtyard. Mother Jago's book can be found on a table surrounded by candles in one of these rooms – despite being surrounded by candles, it's easy to miss this if you don't explore the environment.
Take The Offering To The Speaking Cave
Bring Mother Jago's book back to the Old Mine and she will make you an offer: bring an Offering to the Speaking Cave to connect with The Voice In The Soil that all of the Druids can hear. If you take the Offering from Jago, Druids within the Speaking Cave will not be hostile while it is in your inventory.
The Speaking Cave is located a short ways to the east of the Druid Castle in the middle of the zone at coordinates 23.8E, 86.3N, below the main path and south of a Sewer Entrance. Enter the cave, navigate to the central Altar room, and place your Offering into the bowl.
You will speak with The Voice directly, then head back outside to find Mother Jago has moved to the standing stone circle.
Atomfall: How To Find The Interchange
In Atomfall, Interchange Entrances can be found in all four surface regions, which all connect to this secret underground B.A.R.D facility.
Collect The Growth Serum From Medical
Talk to Mother Jago outside the Speaking Cave and she will tell you your next steps – you must collect a special serum the boffins at Windscale were working on that could, theoretically, grow Oberon instead of destroy it. The Voice In The Earth wants you to 'Feed Oberon' with this Growth Stimulant, which can only be found in the depths of the Medical Caves below the Interchange.
To unlock this area, you must restore power to Data Store Charlie within the Interchange with an Atomic Battery. You must also get Dr. Holder's Keycard to access the lower level of Medica l. Dr. Holder is located below St. Katherine's Church in a secret cellar, which can only be opened with the Church Cellar Key.
Look for this key on the upper floor of Medical, then return to Dr. Holder and promise to pick up Sample One for him. This unlocks another ending, but we only want Holder's Keycard. You can also kill Dr. Holder to get his keycard.
Return to Medical and use this keycard to access the lower level.
Look for the Auditorium in the lower Medical area, which contains Sample One next to a cadaver on an operating table. Walk past this area and into the back room to find a tunnel that leads into the Medical Tunnels.
There may be another method to access the lower levels of the Medical bay in the Interchange. However, getting Dr. Holder's keycard to find the Growth Stimulant location is not difficult – it just requires a bit of backtracking.
Bring plenty of Strange Tonic, or the materials to make them, and plenty of ammo as you delve deeper into this Infection-ridden area. Eventually, you will find a cave system that leads to a scientist's body. The Growth Stimulant can be found next to this scientist's body. Leave the Medical Caves – but you don't have to return to Mother Jago just yet.
Unlock Access To Oberon
Once you have the Growth Serum, you are almost ready to unlock the Mother Jago ending in Atomfall. Now, you just need to open the way to Oberon, the final area of the game.
To do this, you must use four Atomic Batteries to power up the Interchange's four data stores, then use the Signal Redirector on switches beneath the Central Processor room to power up the processor itself.
Atomfall: Deluxe Edition & Preorder Rewards
Atomfall Deluxe Edition and Quarantine Edition offer players special in-game rewards, DLC access, and the ability to play Atomfall early.
Once the Central Processor has appeared, the way to Oberon will open. Save the game, as this is the point of no return.
- Bring Strange Tonics to counter the abundant sources of Infection throughout the Windscale Plant, and at least one Antidote for the carnivorous plant enemies.
- Understand how to defeat B.A.R.D. Robots, of which there are three patrolling the area surrounding Oberon.
- Make sure you are topped up on ammo for your favorite guns and the bow, and bring a strong two-handed melee weapon. Ferals and Thralls are hard to deal with.
When you're good and ready, enter the Windscale Plant.
How To Feed Oberon With The Growth Serum (Finale)
Once you enter the Windscale Plant, continue forward through the multiple zones, taking care to avoid (or defeat) Thralls and Ferals along the way, until you find the door labeled "Oberon Dig Site." Open the door – take a moment to appreciate the beautiful, alien horror of Oberon itself – then turn left and head upward into the Oberon control rooms.
There are a few Thralls in here, notably one that is so fixated on Oberon that it won't even notice you are there. Use Takedowns to quickly deal with any hostile Thralls that haven't already seen you, and continue through to the other side of the facility.
On one of the upper levels, just outside the main control room, you will see a slot marked "Fire Safety". Hover over this slot, insert the Growth Serum, and it will load the Serum into the two fire-extinguishing valves on either side of Oberon.
To feed Oberon, Atomfall players must get to the ground level and turn on both Fire Safety System Valves. These are directly next to the Oberon crash site on either side, but are heavily guarded by three B.A.R.D. Robots.
Using your strongest guns, or a Sticky Grenade, shoot the face of the machine gun B.A.R.D. Robots and the canisters on the ones wielding a flamethrower. This will overheat the robots' systems, allowing you to extract an Atomic Battery and shut them down.
Once you are safe from the robots, activate each valve, then return to the main control room. In here, look for a lever labeled "Fire Safety System." If you have inserted the Growth Serum and have activated both Foam Cannons, pull this lever and watch the magic happen.
After this, without spoiling the ending specifics, things start to get weird – you will want to experience this ending for yourself.
After witnessing what happens, you must make it out of the Oberon facility and escape the Interchange. Once you get to the Central Processor, take the exit to Casterfell Woods, and return to the pit beneath the Castle Ruins caverns to finish the Mother Jago ending and beat Atomfall.
