The Atelier  franchise is an RPG series that has existed longer than most players are aware of, with its first title releasing on the original PlayStation in 1997. Starting with Atelier Iris in 2005, the Atelier series made its way outside of Japan with each subsequent release following. Of the many Atelier games, the Ryza story was one of the most popular, introducing many new RPG fans to the series as a whole. The premise for Atelier revolves around alchemy, with each protagonist of their respective games introducing themselves to alchemy in some way.

The latest Atelier Ryza 2 patch, Ver 1.03, was released for PC, PS4, PS5, and the Switch. All four versions include DLC and bug fixes, while the PS4 and PS5 enabled cross-save support. Players who import their PS4 save to their PS5 version of Atelier Ryza 2 can not only continue their progress on the PS5, but also obtain legacy costumes based on the first Atelier Ryza. To initiate cross-save, players will have to access Ryza's desk via her apartment. The new options allowing players to import and receive save data from the Sony consoles will now be an option.

In Atelier, Players are encouraged to craft recipes to help them engage in battle, with its crafting elements being more of a focus than simply defeating foes. With the release of Atelier Ryza 2,  players interested in previous entries in the Atelier series won't have to wait long as the Atelier Mysterious Trilogy DX, which includes three previous games in the series, is slated for an April release.

Atelier Ryza 2 is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
