Team Asobi threw an Astro Bot launch party in Astro's Playroom. Astro Bot has been in the works for a few years, and cautious excitement has led to outright optimism on the part of many gamers. Many people have been wanting to see a full-fledged Astro Bot game for the PlayStation 5 since its launch, since Astro is a character that has been used to show off what makes the PlayStation brand so special in smaller titles like Astro's Playroom.
People are loving Astro Bot so far. This game is being lauded as PlayStation's own Super Mario 64 moment, albeit nearly 30 years later. For uninitiated gamers, Astro Bot is a brand-new character platformer title that makes use of the PlayStation brand and DualSense controller, using Sony deep cuts to appeal to nostalgia while seeking interesting ways to expand on traditional approaches to gameplay. Astro Bot launched on September 6.
Astro Bot Has Cracked the Top 100 Highest-Rated Games of All Time
Newly-released PlayStation 5 exclusive Astro Bot is now part of the 100 highest-rated video games of all time.
For Astro Bot's launch, the bots in Astro's Playroom threw a midnight release party. Reddit user PandaKid captured footage as they waited for the new game's launch by spending time in Astro's Playroom. As a timer drops to the 10-second mark, the plethora of additional Astro Bots can be heard counting down to one. Once midnight hits, the Bots launch little fireworks and start to celebrate. The player's Astro Bot can be seen doing a dance as the others cheer them on.
Team Asobi Throws Astro Bot a Launch Party in Astro's Playroom
Team Asobi has clearly poured plenty of dedication into several avenues of this game's release, and gamers seem to be just as hyped about it. Plenty are surprised that Team Asobi added something to its previous release for this one, and that this launch party looks to be one of the things that went into the recent Astro's Playroom update. In PlayStation Labo, a mysterious portal was added, and following Astro Bot's launch , it's gone, with the party appearing to be the reason for its presence.
Astro Bot's fans are looking forward to seeing if there's more in store for the robot, and judging by the critical and general acclaim the game has received, it would be a surprising decision on PlayStation's part not to do more with the IP. There seem to be potential post-launch plans for Astro Bot, based on the copyright notices for several franchises that didn't show up in the game appearing in its credits. There's a chance that, among other titles, Stellar Blade and Rise of The Ronin could get their own Bots soon. As Sony continues to add titles that have become staples of its brand, the addition of an Astro Bot might be an ideal way to celebrate them.
