Spring-Loaded Run is the third of five DLC stages for Team Asobi's Astro Bot. Much like the previous two Astro Bot speed-running stages, there are two VIP Bots in Spring-Loaded Run, which players can rescue by completing the course before the two colored birds make it to the finish line.
Astro Bot DLC Release Schedule
Astro Bot fans will gain access to five more DLC stages over the coming weeks, with new levels arriving weekly between February 13 and March 13.
Beating the blue bird's time should be relatively straightforward, but making it to the end of the stage before the red bird can be a little tricky. Thankfully, this Spring-Loaded Run walkthrough contains an optimized route, as well as information about the two Cameo Bots that Astro Bot players can unlock.
How to Complete Spring-Loaded Run
The key to beating the Spring-Loaded Run stage quickly is to avoid unnecessary jumps and hovers. Thankfully, the frog gloves power-up can extend a surprisingly long way, so players should aim to grab onto the red beams from the ground rather than in the air. There are also a couple of spots where players can simply go around wooden barrels rather than actually destroying them, which can help shave off a second or two.
The first place where players can save time a decent chunk of time is when they come to the four stacked wooden barrels. Rather than breaking all of them, they should jump and throw a punch to the middle of the stack on the right, which will cause both barrels to be destroyed and the blue bounce pad to drop. If they time it just right, they can hit the bounce pad in mid-air and then throw in a spin punch to make it to the next bounce pad without having to jump again.
Other than that, the best places to save time are the two sections where players ascend using the red beams. By pulling back on the analog stick when they reach the far side, they'll be able to use Astro's momentum to quickly change direction, allowing them to grab onto the next red beam a little faster than they normally would. Assuming they're able to master this movement, players should have no trouble unlocking the stage's two VIP Bots.
Spring-Loaded Run Cameo Bots
Beating the blue bird's time (70 seconds) will unlock the Holy Knight Cameo Bot, which is based on Ky Kiske from the Guilty Gear franchise. If players are able to beat the red bird's time (55 seconds), they'll unlock another Helldiver from Helldivers 2, with both VIP Bots appearing at the Crash Site after they've been rescued. Assuming players already got the one-way shuttle after completing Building Speed, there'll be no Gatcha Lab item for the Helldiver, but they can get the Thunder Blade (or Thunderseal, as it's known in Guilty Gear) for Ky Kiske.
