Earning experience points or XP for Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla allows you to unlock more skills and make them a better warrior and assassin. The Viking’s power level increases after spending Skill Points (SP) and it gives you an idea of how challenging the guards and soldiers are in a city, village, or settlement.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a massive game with a lot to explore, and it can be intimidating when trying to build the perfect Viking warrior. This guide will show you some methods to level up much faster in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The Assassin's Creed Franchise's Key Traditions Explained
Assassin's Creed has had a long history that has seen a number of changes, but the series is still defined by some key staples.
Best XP Farming Methods In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla offers many ways to gain experience points and level up. There is so much to do that it can be easy to get sidetracked and lose focus on the story or take on challenges with a power level far exceeding Eivor’s. Focus on the following methods to increase Eivor’s skills and XP.
Tackle The Story
The most efficient way to earn experience points in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is by focusing on the story without getting too sidetracked by wandering off the beaten track. There are hours worth of story content and many quests can be challenging, but the rewards are worthwhile, and it’s a great way to obtain SP without getting bored or lost.
Synchronize Viewpoints
Synchronizing viewpoints has been a staple of the Assassin’s Creed games since it launched. It is a nice showcase moment that unveils sections of the map. This includes the location of treasures, optional side quests, and armor. Moreover, synchronizing viewpoints activates fast travel locations, making traversal between lands, towns, and villages less time-consuming.
Perform Raids
If you’re fed up sneaking around and attacking from the shadows, you can always go full Viking and attack a village or monastery to gain rewards and raid them for loot and treasure. However, be wary of picking on a town where the guards have a higher level than Eivor because they will put up a fight. Some towns will have one treasure box to locate while others could have up to three, so as well as gaining a lot of XP, Eivor’s riches will increase.
Seek Out Standing Stones
The Standing Stones in Assassin's Creed Valhalla are mystery puzzles that can be solved to gain Skill Points without leveling up. You must use Odin's Sight and the right positioning to decipher the patterns to line them up. Some are more challenging than others, but they're fun little mysteries that add to the Celtic lore history of Britain.
How to Make Money Fast in Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players will need silver to get resources and other valuable items in the game. Here’s how you can earn it.
Farming XP With Standard Bearers In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Many high-level and powerful enemies will cause Eivor problems. Some stronger guards are found in towns like Lincoln in the Lincolnshire area which has many Standard Bearers. They carry large shields and a standard attached to a big spear, they're powerhouses with a long reach and tricky in one-on-one encounters. However, assassinating them gives up more experience points than defeating them in combat.
Lincolnshire can be accessed early, but Eivor won’t be ready to fight them until he’s at a power level 160, but with a few tweaks and specific skills, the Viking can chain assassinate two Standard Bearers in one for bonus XP. Better still, these enemies respawn in this area after some time has passed, so there’s no limit to how often this can be done, making Lincoln the perfect town for farming XP in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Lincoln is in the northernmost area of Lincolnshire and east of Ledecestrescire. It’s a Distrust area, so Eivor needs to be in stealth mode while looking for Standard Bearers. Before traveling to Lincoln, follow the next steps:
Activate Guaranteed Assassination
Switching on the Guaranteed Assassination option makes Eivor a more formidable assassin, and it feels like a classic Assassin’s Creed title.
- Pause the game and access the Main Menu.
- Select Options.
- Under the Gameplay tab scroll down to the Stealth.
- Switch Guaranteed Assassination On.
Be sure to explore all the options in the gameplay menu, as it covers everything from timing to the guard's awareness.
Unlock Chain Assassination
The Chain Assassination skill is a must-have ability for XP farming. The Standard Bearers usually stand around in twos or patrol a town with other guards. Eivor can sneak up behind a guard and assassinate the second guard with an axe throw. Fast travel away from the area and return after a day has passed to repeat the process as many times as you want.
With the above abilities unlocked, travel to the Lincoln and activate the Fast Travel point on the Monastery. From there, sneak around the Standard Bearers guarding the entrances and Chain Assassinate them from behind. If they catch Eivor, it's better to run and hide until they give up and return to their posts. Use the rooftops to drop down behind the guards inside the town.
