Summary
- Ubisoft hinted at a 60 FPS update for Assassin's Creed Syndicate, possibly improving the gameplay experience.
- A tweet on the official Ubisoft Latam page, written in Spanish, mentioned the 60-FPS update.
- The potential update follows the trend of older AC games receiving next-gen updates, like with Assassin's Creed Origins.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Ubisoft has recently hinted at the existence of an update that would bring 60 FPS to Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, quickly deleting the information later. Despite being almost nine years old, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is a fan-favorite entry in the popular franchise, and many fans would be glad to play it again with an improved framerate.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate was released in 2015. Partly due to the era’s fatigue with the series after the poor reception of AC Unity, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate failed to be a major hit for Ubisoft, but it still maintained a fairly high popularity. Taking place in London during the Industrial Revolution, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate used dual protagonists, the twins Jacob and Evie Frye, and it’s still hailed as an excellent entry by some fans.
Dedicated Assassin's Creed Fan Has Unlocked Over 1,300 Achievements in the Game
Earning every achievement in an Assassin's Creed title is already a big accomplishment, but one fan of the franchise takes it to a whole other level.
Now, the media outlet Aroged spotted an intriguing post made and then deleted by Ubisoft Latam on Twitter. In the tweet, which was originally written in Spanish, it’s possible to read: "Which Assassin's Creed installment have you played the most times? Maybe Syndicate will be in 1st place with the new update that brings 60FPS." Right now, AC Syndicate is only playable at 30 FPS on current-gen consoles, and an upgrade could be an important addition to make fans replay the excellent Assassin’s Creed game. Unfortunately, the post being deleted could mean that this information is incorrect, so gamers should not take this rumor as an official confirmation that the 60 FPS update will ever be released.
Ubisoft Hints At Potential 60 FPS Update for Assassin's Creed Syndicate
This would not be the first time that a game in the franchise has received a next-gen update, though. In 2022, Assassin’s Creed Origins received an update for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, for example. The update was similar to what was seemingly proposed for Syndicate, making the game run at 60 FPS on those platforms.
While the update may be good news for old-school AC fans, most of them will likely be more interested in the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will happen on November 15, 2024. Like Syndicate, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have dual protagonists, the samurai Yasuke and the kunoichi Naoe, which have fairly distinct gameplay. The game’s story will be set in Feudal Japan, a region that Assassin’s Creed fans have wanted to explore for a long time, and it will focus on the conflicts that mark the end of the Sengoku period, including a fierce civil war that happened at the time.

London, 1868. The Industrial Revolution unleashes an incredible age of invention, transforming the lives of millions with technologies once thought impossible. Opportunities created during this period have people rushing to London to engage in this new world, a world no longer controlled by kings, emperors, politicians, or religion, but by a new common denominator: money.
As the brash, rebellious Jacob Frye, put up your dukes and take enemies on with lightning-fast multikills and countermoves. Use improved stealth tactics to elude your enemies and unleash your arsenal of weapons, including the kukri knife, brass knuckles, and sword cane. Utilize new technology like the rope launcher to scale buildings in seconds and take your enemies by surprise.
From Buckingham Palace to Big Ben, fight and triumph across the massive open world of Victorian London. Parkour across moving vehicles to track down enemies or escape after a daring raid, hijack carriages to engage in a no-holds-barred street race, or blaze a trail of destruction aboard steamboats along the River Thames.
With Jacob as the leader, gamers can establish Great Britain’s fiercest gang, the only force that can challenge the elite and defeat rival gangs to bring freedom to the oppressed masses. Enemy strongholds can be infiltrated by using an arsenal of weapons to dominate London’s underworld. From robbing trains to rescuing child laborers, players will stop at nothing to bring justice to London’s lawless streets.
20 years after the events of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, 'JACK THE RIPPER' has embarked on a brutal reign of terror that shocks London to its core and threatens the very existence of the Brotherhood of Assassins
