Double Assassinations have long been an important part of the Assassin's Creed franchise's combat system, but many players will notice they cannot be performed early in Assassin's Creed Shadows. A quick look through the skill tree early in the game will come up empty, meaning many players may assume this powerful combat mechanic must be absent from the franchise's newest entry. However, players hoping to take out two enemies at a time will be happy to know this isn't the case. While it is well-hidden in the skill trees, rest assured that you can unlock Double Assassinations in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

How to Unlock Double Assassinate in AC Shadows

ACS-Tanto

Acquire a Tanto for Naoe:

Currently, only Naoe can perform the Double Assassinate skill. Yasuke has a completely different fighting style, which does not lend itself to the typical Assassin skill set.

The first step to unlocking the Double Assassination in Assassin's Creed Shadows is to find a Tanto, which is a smaller secondary weapon for Naoe. While it is possible to come across a Tanto by chance, it is well worth taking the time to collect at least one Legendary Tanto. There are several that can be found quite early in the game. The best is called Igan Sunset, and can be collected as soon as you have the freedom to do so.

You'll find this Tanto in the Legendary Chest located in Tozuku's Lair, a small POI in the Katano Foothills region of Izumi Settsu. The chest is located inside one of the run-down structures.

You can also purchase a Tanto from the various Gear Vendors found in the major cities. However, there is no reason to waste the Mon on this, as Igan Sunset is incredibly easy to collect, and can actually serve as a great secondary weapon for the length of the game.

Reach Knowledge Tier 2:

After you've collected a Tanto, you'll have the equipment you need to unlock Double Assassination in AC Shadows, but you'll still need to reach the required Knowledge level to unlock the desired skill.

To unlock Knowledge Points fast in Assassin's Creed Shadows, make sure to visit every hexagonal orange icon you encounter. You can use the Legend on your map to reveal any Knowledge Point POI you revealed during your travels. Simply press down on the D-Pad when you are in the Map section of the menu to reveal the Legend.

Make sure to check the Opportunities section when browsing contracts at Kakurega as well.

Unlock Double Assassinate:

Now that you have a Tanto, and have reached Knowledge Tier 2, you can unlock the Double Assassinate skill in the Assassin section of the Mastery menu. To unlock the skill, you'll need to have three Mastery points.

Remember, you can only use Double Assassinate while you have a Tanto equipped. However, it does not have to be your active weapon. As long as you are carrying the Tanto in your secondary slot, you'll be able to use Double Assassinate.
