Ubisoft has not only lowered the price of the Collector's Edition, but it is also giving away the Claws of Awaji expansion for free with Assassin's Creed Shadows pre-orders. In a new announcement on the Red Bull website, Assassin's Creed Shadows fans can earn free in-game items prior to the launch of the game. While many video game and energy drink collaborations typically involve purchasing a product, such as Mountain Dew and the Halo franchise, that isn't the case with this promotion. Instead, Red Bull is offering the gear through a simple quiz based on story and gameplay details from Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Assassin's Creed Shadows Red Bull Collaboration Details
After completing the quiz, players will be asked to enter their name and email address in order to claim the gear. For taking the quiz, players will earn two trinkets for their Assassin's Creed Shadows customizable loadout, one for Naoe and the other for Yasuke. While the items may break the player's immersion thanks to the Red Bull logo emblazoned on the item, the trinkets themselves appear to offer tangible benefits, especially in the early game. For example, the Red Bull Medallion will give Naoe a +3% affliction buildup on enemies above half health, while the Red Bull Wooden Plaque restores 2% of Yasuke's health on dodging an attack.
One of the defining features of Assassin's Creed Shadows is its dual protagonists, an element Ubisoft Quebec was able to refine in its earlier title, Assassin's Creed Syndicate. However, for Shadows, the developer has confirmed a Canon Mode which will make the in-game choices for the player based on the character's motivations. Alternatively, players can also play through the majority of Assassin's Creed Shadows as only one character, sticking to a specific playstyle throughout instead of switching.
