Scout mechanics play a major role in allowing players to narrow down the next quest objective or smuggling supplies in Assassin's Creed Shadows. At the start of the game, players only get three scouts. Since some quests can make finding the next objective tricky and procuring materials for your hideout is just as important, balancing the use of limited scouts is tough. How to Get More Scouts in Assassin's Creed Shadows

To increase the maximum number of scouts available in Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will need to first build a Study in their Hideout. The Study will act as the league's information center, allowing players to expand their network of scouts.

After building the Study, you'll have the option to upgrade it up to level 3, with each upgrade increasing the total number of scouts by one. This will bring the total number of scouts players can have to six.

In addition to upgrading the study, players should also upgrade their Stable, as it reduces the number of scouts required to smuggle resource pallets.

All building and upgrading structures in the Hideout will require a lot of resources that can be found in castles or enemy camps. If you have enough Mon, you can buy the materials from Port Vendors in major villages.

How to Refill Scouts

If you've run out of scouts and need to refill them, Assassin's Creed Shadows lets players do it in a couple of ways.

  • Refill from Kakurega: You can visit the Kakurega inside your main Hideout or other hideouts you purchase in different villages to refill scouts. After entering the Kakurega, interact with the colorful bags hanging off the wall. Each scout refill will set players back 200 Mon.
  • Saving NPC in Trouble: While exploring the open world, players will encounter NPC's being harassed by enemies. After taking care of the threat, talking to an NPC will allow you to choose between World Rumor or Scout Intel. Choosing Scout Intel will refill one scout in the network.
  • Changing Seasons: Players can manually change the in-game seasons or wait for 60 real-world minutes to trigger it automatically. Once that happens, all the scouts will be completely refilled as they return from expeditions.
