Assassin's Creed Shadows has a unique approach when it comes to armor for both Naoe and Yasuke. To start with Naoe, she can equip Headgear, Light Armor, and Trinkets to improve her stats and grant her special skills. Each set of legendary armor comes with one attached skill which makes them unique.
Assassin's Creed Shadows: 6 Ways Naoe Is Better Than Yasuke
Can a ninja beat a samurai? In Assassin's Creed Shadows, Naoe certainly makes a strong case for being the ideal Japanese hero.
Once the forge at the hideout is fully upgraded in Assassin's Creed Shadows, players can attach an additional skill to any set of legendary armor. Gear levels up with Naoe, so finding these items later in the game may be more worthwhile than getting them early. It’s up to players are their preferences. Here are some standout armor sets for Naoe, ranked by their usefulness.
9 Peasant Clothes (Light Armor)
Good, With One Condition
- Skill: Attacks Have 3% Chance To Remove 1 Health Segment On Hit
- Location: Osaka Castle (Izumi Setsu Region)
The Peasant Clothes are a type of Light Armor, and they will come in handy depending on how players engage with the game. First, this Light Armor can be found in the Izumi Setsu region within Osaka Castle, which is close to where players will start.
In Assassin's Creed Shadows’ settings, players can turn on Guaranteed Assassination, making every stealth attack an automatic kill and nullifying the need for this armor's skill. For those who wish to play the game more like an RPG, the Peasant Clothes’ perk will help take down enemies faster, be it with a stealth attack or in a duel.
8 Minogame’s Protection (Trinket)
Busting Through Defenses
- Skill: +50% Damage Per Empty Armor Piece
- Location: Mibuno Castle (Iga Region)
The Minogame’s Protection Trinket can be found in the Iga region within Mibuno Castle. This is where Naoe is from, and even though players can visit it in the tutorial, it’s a higher level area once the game properly opens up.
Enemies can sometimes have two health bars, with the yellow pertaining to their armor above their red bar of HP. Minogame’s Protection can increase damage done to an enemy if players decrease their armor health. The more armor they have, the faster they will go down after basically.
7 Omukade’s Feast (Trinket)
For The Tanto Lovers
- Skill: +15% To Stats With Only A Tanto Equipped
- Location: Hidden River (Yamato Region)
The Omukade’s Feast Trinket can be found in the Yamato region safely tucked away in a chest along the Hidden River. This Trinket is amazing, but only if players want to equip Naoe with only Tanto weapons, which are like knives.
Assassin's Creed Shadows: 6 Best Abilities In Naoe's Katana Mastery Path
Let Naoe become one with the blade in Assassin's Creed Shadows by choosing the following abilities in her Katana Mastery Path.
She uses them with the hidden blade, and it’s how players can pull off double kills after they purchase the Double Assassinate skill in Assassin's Creed Shadows. If players are good with Tantos, then all of their stats will increase by 15% with the Omukade’s Feast, which is a top-teir bonus.
6 Fluttering Moth (Trinket)
For The Kusarigama Lovers
- Skill: +15% To Stats With Only A Kusarigama Equipped
- Location: Nabari Wilds (Iga Region)
The Fluttering Mot Trinket can be acquired in the Iga region within the Nabari Wilds. Like the Omukade’s Feast, this Trinket will raise all stats by 15%, but only with a specific weapon equipped: Kusarigamas.
Kusarigamas are sickles attached to weighted chains, and while they're slow, their reach is impressive. They’re good for dealing with crowds, like when invading castles or forts in Assassin's Creed Shadows, so when push comes to shove, equip the Fluttering Mot and a Kusarigama to take care of large crowds in short order.
5 Noh Masterstroke Mask (Headgear)
A Status Hungry Cover
- Skill: +20% Of An Adrenaline Chunk On Affliction Buildup
- Location: Kinokawa Valley (Kii Region)
The Noh Masterstroke Mask Headgear can be found in the Kii region hidden in the Kinokawa Valley. When players unlock skills for Naoe in Assassin's Creed Shadows’ various skill trees, they come in two forms: active and passive.
Active skills have to be equipped, and to use them, players need Adrenaline, which is represented by diamonds above the HP meter. The Noh Masterstroke Mask will increase how much Adrenaline players will gain if they inflict a status effect on an enemy like Bleed or Poison.
4 Hidden Servant Hat (Headgear)
Boosting Abilities Through Kills
- Skill: Double Adrenaline Gain On Assassinations
- Location: Takeda Castle (Tamba Region)
The Hidden Servant Hat Headgear can be acquired in the Tamba region within Takeda Castle. It looks like a typical conical hat except one with a bit more design to it. It’s something a samurai—or maybe a ronin—would wear more than a ninja, but it looks good on Naoe regardless.
Assassin's Creed Shadows: 6 Best Abilities In Naoe's Shinobi Mastery Path
Naoe becomes even more efficient while working in the shadows, provided players pick the right abilities from her Shinobi Mastery Path.
This is another piece of Headgear that can build Adrenaline, much like the Noh Masterstroke Mask. In this case, all players have to do is be a good ninja and stealthily assassinate targets in Assassin's Creed Shadows, and the Hidden Servant Hat will increase the rate that they build up Adrenaline.
3 Last Dance Of The Onryo Mask (Headgear)
Stealing HP Like A Vampire
- Skill: Restore 5% Health On Next Hit After Using Abilities
- Location: Yaobikuni Cave (Wakasa Region)
The Last Dance of the Onryo Mask is one of the creepiest masks in the game. Players can find it far north in the Wakasa region deep in the Yaobikuni Cave, and all they have to do is fight one low-level basic samurai to get it.
Once players use an active skill, they can regain some amount of HP on their next normal attack if Naoe is wearing this mask. 5% may not seem like a lot, but upon repeated use, it can gradually heal Naoe, like a vampire draining its victim one bite at a time.
2 Hidden Servant Kosode (Light Armor)
A Sneaky Boost
- Skill: +25% Adrenaline Gain In Restricted Zones
- Location: Kameyama Castle (Tamba Region)
The Hidden Servant Kosode is a piece of Light Armor, and it can be acquired in the Tamba region within Kameyama Castle. This Light Armor looks more like a kimono than a set of ninja attire, although fans of the Naruto anime should be used to seeing gaudy clothing on ninjas.
Like the aforementioned pieces of Headgear, the Hidden Servant Kosode can increase the Adrenaline players gain. If players enter a restricted area, like a castle or fort, their chances of gaining Adrenaline in battle increase by 25%.
1 Tools Master Gear (Light Armor)
A Deadly Counter
- Skill: Throw A Kunai At The Closest Enemy After An Assassination
- Location: Katano Castle (Izumi Setsu Region)
The Tools Master Gear is the best Light Armor in the game, and it can be found relatively early in the Izumi Setsu region within Katano Castle. The design makes Naoe look like a ninja more than most gear in the game, and it has a perk that will make her behave like one too.
If players drop into a courtyard and slay an enemy with another enemy close by, Naoe will toss a Kunai in their direction and kill them too. Even after acquiring the aforementioned Double Assassinate skill, this Light Armor is still great. Just don’t get it too early or players will be forced to upgrade it to match their level, which isn’t the end of the world, but is an added bit of busywork.
