The most recent release in the franchise (aside from the VR-exclusive Assassin's Creed Nexus), Assassin's Creed Mirage was intended to be a return to basics for those longing to go back to the early action-adventure days of the franchise. Using the guise of a celebration of the franchise's 15th anniversary, Assassin's Creed Mirage hearkened back to the original 2007 entry by bringing stealth and parkour back to the forefront of gameplay, and limiting the number of RPG mechanics in the game. Mirage reviewed fairly well upon its September 2023 release and appeared to have met Ubisoft's sales expectations, but that was the last fans heard of it.
Flash forward 16 months and there's suddenly talk that Assassin's Creed Mirage could receive some new story DLC. A recent report from French outlet Les Echos claims that Ubisoft is partnering with Saudi company Savvy Games Group to create some DLC for Mirage. It's very rare for a game to get story DLC so long after release when it had none prior. But there's another rumor going around that might help to make sense of this new report.
Everything from here on out is based solely on leaks and rumors, so it should all be taken with a big pinch of salt.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Might Get DLC Ahead of a Nintendo Switch 2 Port
Assassin's Creed Mirage Could Be Coming to The Nintendo Switch 2
Just a few days before the Nintendo Switch 2's official reveal, YouTuber Nate the Hate released an episode of his podcast titled "Nintendo 2025 Predictions: When Switch 2 Will be Revealed & Major 3rd Party Support; 3D Mario & More." During this podcast, Nate the Hate mentions that Ubisoft reportedly has "more than half a dozen" games in the works for Nintendo's next handheld hybrid console, including ports of The Division and Rainbow Six Siege, as well as a Mario + Rabbids collection.
Nate the Hate also claimed that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, with a port of Assassin's Creed Shadows also reportedly in development for later on in the Switch 2's life. A port of AC Mirage on Switch 2 would make sense for both parties, with Ubisoft getting the game in more hands, and Nintendo getting to show the increased power of the Switch 2 compared to its predecessor.
How Assassin's Creed Mirage's Rumored DLC Could Entice Switch 2 Owners
But Ubisoft needs to give fans some proper incentive to purchase a potential Nintendo Switch 2 port of Assassin's Creed Mirage. With the game having come out well over a year ago, many fans have already played it. And with Mirage technically being playable on handhelds like the Steam Deck, the allure of playing the game on the go has already faded.
This is where Assassin's Creed Mirage's rumored DLC could come in. To some fans, Assassin's Creed Mirage didn't explore protagonist Basim's story quite as thoroughly as they had hoped, and a story DLC detailing more of his journey between the events of Mirage and Valhalla could be just the thing Ubisoft needs to get fans to purchase the game once more.
