While the community may not always see eye to eye, there have been several times when the Assassin's Creed community has come together to do something incredible. Perhaps it's how the community has celebrated each game week after week as part of Ubisoft's AC15 event, perhaps it's how the community rallied to the idea of Assassin's Creed Sisterhood (including devs), or perhaps it's how the community has supported cause after cause, all befitting the Assassin's Creed.

Last year, several Assassin's Creed players, communities, and associated companies came together to raise funds for mental health awareness, dubbed the Assassins in Need fundraiser. Organized by the Assassin's Creed community page The Ones Who Came Before, proceeds were directed to the World Federation for Mental Health, and now yet another Assassins in Need fundraiser has been organized.

This year, the fundraiser is titled Assassins in Need: Heart of the Creed and is running from now until September 10, 2022. The goal this year is to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and the American Heart Association, with both organizations providing cardiovascular medical research, education, and more to facilities around the world. Various companies and communities are working with The Ones Who Came Before with this fundraiser, hoping to make it the biggest yet with a target of £1500 (or crudely $1806). Those interested in helping out can check out the GoFundMe page HERE or check out the links in the tweets below.

It seems this specific cause was selected as many within the community have lost family and friends to heart-related conditions, as well as in honor of Assassin's Creed scriptwriter Russell Lees. Lees was a Ubisoft veteran of 12 years, and he passed in January 2022 of a heart attack. "Our thoughts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time," the GoFundMe reads.

While it's certainly not the focus, it should also be noted that there will be a range of exclusive milestone projects revealed as the fundraiser grows closer to its goal. The Assassins in Need fundraiser last year, for example, had one milestone where Ezio actor Roger Craig Smith thanked fans for their support. It's uncertain what these milestones will be for this year, but regardless of that, the goal is more than admirable enough itself.

The Assassins in Need: Heart of the Creed fundraiser will be live until September 10.
