Now, Ubisoft has added brand-new features to Black Flag’s Steam page (spotted by TheHiddenOneAC), but the twist is that none of them are available in the game. The new features include custom volume controls, stereo sound, surround sound, mouse-only option, adjustable difficulty options, and the ability to save anytime. While this could mean that AC4: Black Flag will get a new update that will add these new features to the old version, it’s also possible that the update is linked to the rumored remake. What could worry some people, however, is that if Ubisoft is already changing the Steam page, it could mean that the new remake will replace the previous title in the store, which will likely not sit well with some gamers.

Since the original rumors began to surface, gamers have continued to find evidence of the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake. Back in June, for example, Ubisoft made some changes to its Steam page, updating some of the game’s trailers on the storefront.

Another indication that the remake exists came from Edward Kenway’s voice actor, Matt Ryan, a few weeks ago. At the time, Ryan teased a potential Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake, saying to some players during a convention that they would “have to beat” AC4 again.

The frequency of these updates may mean that an announcement could happen soon, but it’s impossible to point out exactly when. Last year, it was reported that the Black Flag remake could be out in November 2025. However, this was before Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was delayed, so it’s possible that the game could come out in 2026. Ubisoft has already confirmed that it will attend Gamescom 2025, so the remake may be unveiled during the event. If this does not happen, other major events such as The Game Awards 2025 or Ubisoft Forward 2026 could be when the announcement will finally take place. Gamers should take these rumors and predictions with a grain of salt.
