The beginning of a new season can also be advantageous to players, as it not only replenishes their supply of scouts, but also clears any wanted levels they may have picked up over the course of the previous season. With this in mind, some may be wondering how they can manually change the season in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

How to Change the Season in Assassin's Creed Shadows

To manually change the season in Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will need to head to the world map screen and then hold right on the D-pad. However, there is one major caveat. For this to work, the little compass in the top right-hand corner of the screen will either need to be full or halfway full, as indicated by the small white circles near the north and south positions. Assuming this is the case, and a season change hasn't just happened, holding right for a second or two will trigger a season change.

It's important to note, though, that after the compass reaches north or south, the season will change automatically the next time players fast travel or come out of a cut-scene. As such, the option to manually change the season is kind of pointless, unless players never fast travel, that is. As for how to fill up the compass, this happens automatically over time. One full season lasts about two hours, with mid-season transitions taking place every hour or so.

Each of the seasons in Assassin's Creed Shadows consists of two phases, so players may find that a season change animation won't always lead to a brand-new season per se. If the compass is only halfway full, the animation signifies the midway point of the season, although players will still gain all of the benefits of a full season change: the number of available scouts will be reset, smuggled goods will be brought back to the hideout, and Naoe and Yasuke's wanted levels will be reset.
