Ubisoft made some major headlines yesterday with the release of their latest financials and corporate strategy going forward. We saw some delays for two of their titles (including Splinter Cell: Conviction) and the news that the developer will be pushing more emphasis onto their key titles, with one being a new Assassin's Creed set to come out by early next year at the latest.

The coolest news was that this new title (possible Assassin's Creed 3?) Would be the first installment in the franchise to introduce multiplayer! We don't know what the multiplayer mode will entail but we at The Best War Games are hoping it's a co-op related or a possible co-op option for the campaign. I think if gamers had to choose what they want from multiplayer, co-op is what we want. Let's play the other Assassin's and work together!

Now comes news that the main character from Assassin's Creed 2, Ezio, will be returning the the next installment and that it is in fact a follow-up to the most recent release. We also know that it is a full-retail complete game and not an expansion.

MoreThere will be several Ubisoft studios (the Montreal studio did most of the second installment) working together to make the game high quality and to make it fast - possibly for a holiday release this year. A spokesperson confirmed the following yesterday:

"The game will take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2."

Where do you think the story will take us in the next Assassin's Creed and what multiplayer features do you want?
