Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon players can now download the 1.02 patch. Despite the excellent reviews Armored Core 6 received so far, there are still a few bugs to be ironed out, and FromSoftware seems keen on solving this issue quickly, as it unveils its second patch in less than a month after the game’s launch in late August.
Soon after its release, Armored Core 6 already became a huge hit, following the success of previous FromSoftware titles. Not only was Armored Core 6 the best-selling game in the United Kingdom soon after its launch, but it also managed to get over 150,000 concurrent players on Steam. Most of this success can be attributed to its fast-paced gameplay and the ability to customize mechas that can be used in several missions.
Now, the new Armored Core 6: Fire of Rubicon update 1.02, which was just released by FromSoftware, is set to change the game in small, yet significant ways. One of the main changes of the patch is regarding the balancing of several major weapons. Eight weapons will be buffed in the update, increasing their efficiency to be competitive with other popular choices. For example, the MA-J-200 RANSETSU-RF will get improvements in attack power, rate of fire, and reload time, while the MA-E-210 ETSUJIN will get more total rounds as well as power and speed. Fortunately, no weapon whatsoever was nerfed.
Aside from that, almost a dozen bugs will be fixed, and camera controls for people watching online arena battles will be improved, giving them a better overall experience. From bugs mentioned in the patch notes, some are related to missions. For instance, one of them is regarding an unintended immunity that a boss could have against specific weapons in “Destroy the Weaponized Mining Ship,” which is often considered one of the best Armored Core 6 missions in Chapter 1.
This update can be downloaded right now by anyone who owns the game, as long as they have internet access, and most of these changes will be available for all platforms. However, two of the bugs fixed are only present in the Steam version of the game, and one will affect only Xbox and PC players. Hopefully, with the help of this and potentially a few more patches, Armored Core 6 can carve its place among the best Armored Core games in the franchise in the fans' memory.
