FromSoftware has rolled out a small patch for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, adjusting game balance and addressing several bugs. After a short downtime, Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon patch 1.08 is now live on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Armored Core may not necessarily be the first franchise that comes to mind when people think about FromSoftware titles. However, while the studio is renowned for everything related to Souls games, the mecha combat series has earned its place in the industry, with Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon achieving significant success. In July 2024, the developer revealed that the game had surpassed 3 million sales, marking a major feat for the vehicular combat franchise. Although the game has performed remarkably, FromSoftware continues to support it and has now released a new update to keep the title running smoothly.
Armored Core 6 Deserves its Own 'Nightreign'
Elden Ring Nightreign is blazing a new trail for FromSoftware's Soulslikes, but an equivalent game for Armored Core could revive its old strengths.
Following an online play downtime period, players on PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam can now enjoy the changes introduced in Armored Core 6 patch 1.08. One important improvement is related to hit detection, which has been improved for certain Armored Core 6 Frame Part configurations that made ACs more difficult to hit. The game now more accurately registers when a player's AC is hit during combat. Furthermore, some adjustments were made, such as an increased Booster Efficiency Adj. For the CORE "AC-J-120 BASHO" and increased AP for the BIPEDAL "NACHTREIHER/42E" and BIPEDAL "VE-42A."
Additionally, stagger behavior has been adjusted for enemy Armored Cores to improve the combat experience, especially when multiple hits land on an enemy at once. The patch also fixes a bug where the Armored Core System load would not build up correctly.
Moreover, system and online match-related fixes have also been implemented. For instance, there was a bug in the DECAL menu that allowed players to use images exceeding the layer limit, another one that caused Armored Core 6 to crash in certain situations, and a problem where opponents’ ACs would not display properly during online play.
The developer noted that the patch will not apply to players with the game set to boot in offline mode, advising them to change the settings on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Series X|S, as installing the update is necessary for those who want to engage in Armored Core 6 multiplayer. While the game continues to thrive, players can still enjoy Armored Core 6's fast and chaotic gameplay.
