ARK: Survival Ascended is getting an unlikely crossover with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, with players now able to don the iconic costumes and command the towering Dinozords of the original five teenagers with attitude. Last October, Studio Wildcard released an updated version of its 2015 action-adventure survival title ARK: Survival Evolved in early access, and it was eventually ported to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S about a month later. So far, ARK: Survival Ascended contains every piece of content from the original ARK: Survival Evolved alongside the Scorched Earth DLC expansion.
Even more content is coming to ARK: Survival Ascended ahead of ARK 2’s eventual release later this year, with at least four new expansions planned: Aberration, Extinction, Genesis Part 1, and Genesis Part 2. In addition to this official content, ARK: Survival Ascended has retained the large modding community from the original Survival Evolved, with dedicated fans adding new enemies and other features to enhance the survival experience. One of the most recent and noteworthy of these mods introduces a massive, Godzilla-like dinosaur named the Prismorax.

Now ARK: Survival Ascended is crossing over with another famous, Kaiju-centric franchise with the newly-released ARK: Survival Ascended x Power Rangers Cosmetic Pack mod. This batch of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers-themed DLC from CurseForge and developer/publisher Look North World was announced last month, and now it is live. In the connected announcement trailer, a typical ARK survivor stumbles across one of the Power Morphers and uses it to transform into the original Red Ranger. As Ron Wasserman’s iconic “Go Go Power Rangers” plays in the background, the newly-minted Ranger tames his trusty T-Rex Dinozord and searches for the rest of the team.
ARK: Survival Ascended x Power Rangers Crossover Morphs Into Action
While the beloved Power Rangers franchise has been somewhat dormant since the release of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury on Netflix last September, the past few weeks have seen some exciting announcements on the gaming front. During this month’s Summer Game Fest, Hasbro and developer Digital Eclipse revealed Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind, a retro-style side-scrolling beat-em-up that sees the wicked Robo-Rita travel back in time to battle the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers team. The game will allow players to team up in co-op and have plenty of references to the classic series when it launches in late 2024.
In the meantime, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers of old are teleporting their way into the wild and untamed world of ARK: Survival Ascended in a crossover not many gamers saw coming. The ARK: Survival Ascended x Power Rangers Cosmetic Pack is now available to purchase for $9.99 in participating countries, and CurseForge is hosting a special contest for ARK: Survival Ascended players to win a gaming PC by sharing Power Rangers-themed screenshots.
