The second ARC Raiders Expedition is just a few weeks away, and developer Embark Studios has finally revealed what rewards players will receive this time around. The first ARC Raiders Expedition departed on December 22 and gave those who felt as though they had achieved all there was to achieve in the game a reason to start over again, offering increased Stash space, various buffs, and more. However, some fans felt as though the grind wasn't worth the rewards, so Embark is making some big changes for the second wipe.

Unlike other extraction shooters, such as Escape from Tarkov, ARC Raiders does its server resets a little differently. As Embark's shooter is targeted at a much more casual audience, the studio doesn't force players to wipe their progress and start over every few weeks or months. Instead, it gives players the choice to take part in an Expedition that will see their character leave the Rust Belt forever. Players need to acquire the relevant materials to build their Expedition Caravan, and only then will they be ready to depart during the window. After the first Expedition departed late last year, Embark has heard players' feedback loud and clear and has made some changes for its second outing.

ARC Raiders Is Making Big Changes for Its Second Expedition

arc raiders expedition changes

Last year, players made it abundantly clear that they weren't happy with the ARC Raiders Expedition rewards. With its second Expedition looming, Embark has now revealed some important changes that fans planning to reset will want to know about. The first is a new "catch up mechanic" for those who didn't take part in the first Expedition. The new system will allow players to catch up on the missed Skill Points and reclaim the five additional ones they missed out on. "The catch up Skill Points will be heavily discounted, making the total Coins needed to reach max Skill Points less for each Expedition," Embark said in a new blog post.

Embark says it will also be lowering the cost of Skill Points for the second ARC Raiders Expedition. Previously, players who wanted to achieve the maximum 5 Skill Points up for grabs would need to accumulate 5 million Stash value. Now, with the upcoming wipe, each Skill Point will cost 600,000, as opposed to 1 million. Any Skill Points from the first Expedition will be reduced and cost a further 300,000 per Point. This means anyone who wants to get all 10 Skill Points, 5 from the first wipe and 5 from the second, will need a total of 4.5 million Stash value.

In terms of rewards and other benefits, anybody who is set to do the Expedition for the very first time will receive the rewards from the first ARC Raiders Expedition. However, those resetting for the second time will receive additional benefits. Embark says that permanent bonuses that have been earned on previous expeditions will be retained by players, even if they choose to not depart again. The Patchwork outfit will get four additional toggles and two new colour options for those joining their second Expedition, as well as a new Scrappy outfit. Buffs will stack for those who continue to depart on consecutive Expeditions, but will be reset for those who decide not to depart again. The full list of rewards and buffs can be found below:

Permanent

  • Cosmetics:
    • The Patchwork outfit (evolved)
    • Scrappy cosmetics
    • The Expedition Indicator icon (upgraded for each expedition completed)
  • Bonuses:
    • 12→24 Stash spaces
    • +0-5 Skill Points (+ catch up on missed Skill Points from the first Expedition, so 85 total is possible for those embarking on their second Expedition)

Consecutive

  • Buffs:
    • 5%→10% XP boost
    • 6%→12% Scrappy materials boost
    • 60%→70% Repair value increase

Anyone who wants to take part in the second ARC Raiders Expedition can begin building their Caravan now, with sign-ups starting on February 25 and the departure set for March 1. Players can also look forward to a brand-new content update sometime this month. Shrouded Sky will see the addition of a new map condition, which is heavily rumored to be the long-awaited Toxic Swamp, as well as a new ARC threat, Raider Deck, and much more.
