Earlier today Respawn Entertainment revealed Apex Legends Season 5 and its newest Legend, Loba. The unveil was such a big deal for players that it began trending on Twitter, and this makes sense in the context of how popular the free-to-play battle royale has been according to Electronic Arts' full 2019/2020 fiscal year report also put out today.

In the "selected highlights and metrics" section of the press release about the report, which chronicles EA's financial situation as of the end of its fourth quarter on March 31, 2020, Apex Legends was the most downloaded free-to-play game on the PS4 in 2019. The entire company also made $1.797 billion in net profits "from operating activities" for the fiscal year, as other metrics like FIFA 20 having more than 25 million unique players were also reported.
