Even though many players might still be grinding Ranked in Season 13 of Apex Legends, that has not stopped Respawn Entertainment from teasing the future of the battle royale. Recently, the company released new details about the upcoming Season 14 of Apex Legends called Hunted. Among the info revealed, the developer announced that an increase was finally coming to the level cap.
While fans load up Apex Legends for many reasons, one aspect many particularly enjoy is grinding to max level. Unfortunately, that grind has been over for a long time for many gamers, as the level cap in Apex Legends has remained at level 500 for a couple of years. However, the next season of the game appears to be changing that, giving longtime players stuck at level 500 another reason to grind the game again.
Recently, the developers at Respawn Entertainment announced that the level cap for Apex Legends was being raised. This news came via a page on the official Apex Legends website that included several new details about Season 14, which is set to release on August 9. According to new text on the website, players can “Aim for staggering heights with the new Level Cap Increase.”
This is likely a big deal for a number of fans of Apex Legends. While Apex Legends has seen its level cap raised from the original 100 to 500, that increase came back in December 2019. As a result, that means players have been waiting for more than two years for a new opportunity to level up their accounts in Apex Legends. While the exact change to the level cap coming in Season 14 was not noted by Respawn Entertainment, some on the internet have speculated that it could be somewhere around 700. However, that news has not been confirmed by the company and could prove inaccurate.
In addition to the reveal of an increased level cap, Respawn Entertainment provided several other details about the upcoming Season 14. Among the highlights, it was officially announced that Vantage would be joining Apex Legends as the newest addition to the cast of playable characters. This finally confirmed a leak that had been teasing the Legend for months. Furthermore, the developer website noted that Kings Canyon would be receiving a massive overhaul in the upcoming season.
Unfortunately, fans are going to have to wait a little while longer to learn more details about Season 14. However, the new seasonal content is scheduled to launch in only a couple of weeks, meaning that it should not be much longer until anxious fans learn more about the level cap increase. Hopefully, this new level cap increase will give Apex Legends veterans a new reason to hop back into the frenetic action the battle royale has to offer.
Apex Legends is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
