Apex Legends players have been begging for Lifeline to be significantly buffed or reworked for some time. The Support character has fallen behind a wave of Apex Legends roster additions with aggressive movement abilities and powerful offensive capabilities. For the time being, Respawn has yet to indicate its plans for Lifeline, though where Respawn has balked, Apex Legends players may have found their own way. At least one Lifeline player appears to have discovered a way to turn invisible.

A post on Reddit that recently drew a surprising amount of attention caught the mysterious invisible Lifeline in action. "Lifeline got a secret cloaking buff?" Is the title of the post, with a short video attached. In the video, a player walks into a room to see a quasi-invisible Lifeline crouched in front of a doorway. Since the opponent was only sort-of-invisible, the player started shooting at them. Unfortunately, they ended up outnumbered and lost the engagement, leaving them befuddled as to what had happened.

At first guess, it would seem to be an odd bug. Lifeline has no way to turn invisible, after all. Her abilities include dropping a healing drone or summoning a care package. There are also no known weapons, items, or equipment that can turn a character invisible. As such, perhaps it was a glitch adding transparency to Lifeline's model or a lighting issue within the room. Perhaps she was trapped in the door and Apex Legends bugged out displaying her. Bugs can create very odd situations, after all.

Some Apex Legends players believe there's something more going on, though. With the way that Lifeline sits there while the player in the video walks in, it almost seems like they know that they're invisible. Perhaps they're hoping not to be seen, testing a glitch they discovered. It's also possible that there's something more nefarious going on, with the Lifeline using an exploit or a cheat.

What's clear from the video is that regardless of whether it's a glitch, exploit, or cheat, most Apex Legends players aren't going to have a serious issue dealing with the problem. Lifeline's just transparent enough to draw more attention than they would otherwise. Of course, that might be less true if Lifeline was at sniper range.

Some good news coming out of the situation is that this is an idea Respawn can take into consideration when looking for ways to improve Lifeline. Maybe a bit of invisibility is just what the character needs, allowing her to sneakily heal her allies or gather her supply crates. It certainly created an exciting encounter in this situation.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile devices.
