Apex Legends season 14, dubbed Hunted, will release in a little over a week, as of this writing. Respawn Entertainment has already given fans a new sneak peek at the new Legend Vantage, as well as a few changes coming to Kings Canyon. However, perhaps the biggest changes coming to Apex Legends season 14 deal with the weapon meta.
The Best War Games recently attended a press event focusing on Apex Legends season 14, with Respawn senior game designer Eric Canavese giving a detailed breakdown on changes coming to the weapons and gold items. It stands to reason that there are a few other things coming to the game next season than listed below, but the entire Apex Legends weapons meta is getting a shake-up in the coming season.
Apex Legends Season 14 Weapon Changes
In terms of attachments, a new hop-up is being introduced in Apex Legends. This hop-up is called laser sights, and they are designed to reduce hipfire spread on close-range weapons, namely pistols and SMGs. Fans will be able to change the color of their laser too.
Some of the more drastic changes include the Spitfire and Wingman changing ammo types in Apex Legends.
- The Wingman will now take sniper ammo, as a way of adjusting the ammo economy on it.
- The Spitfire will now take light ammo instead of heavy ammo.
The EVA-8 will be getting buffed, with its fire rate increasing, with stocks able to be equipped now, and the double-tap coming on the weapon automatically.
The Skullpiercer is back, with the Wingman, Longbow, and 30-30 able to equip it.
The Bow and Rampage are going into the Care Package. The Volt and G7 are coming to floor loot.
Apex Legends Season 14 Gold Item Changes
The biggest change for gold items is the complete removal of Self-Revive in Apex Legends. Many fans have been requesting this, due to issues it can cause at high levels of play, and Respawn has done it. Now, the Gold Backpack's former Guardian Angel perk is now used on the Gold Knockdown Shield, which means those who have it can resurrect someone else with increased health and shields. This change is likely to benefit Newcastle quite a bit.
With Guardian Angel moving to the Gold Knockdown Shield, the Gold Backpack is getting a new perk that allows players to stack another Shield Battery, Med Kit, and Phoenix Kit. So, while other backpacks allow players to stack two Batteries, two Med Kits, and one Phoenix Kit, the Gold Backpack allows players to stack three batteries, three med kits, and two Phoenix Kits.
Apex Legends is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
