Conduit is a support legend with a penchant for keeping her team alive and zoning enemies off of strategic areas, making her a valuable squadmate who can control the flow of a fight in Apex Legends.
Apex Legends S19 Interview: Respawn Talks Conduit, Storm Point Rework, and Promo Trials
The Best War Games speaks with Respawn Entertainment about the major updates coming to Apex Legends in season 19, including new Legend Conduit
With her user-friendly kit and relatively low skill floor, Conduit is a great pick for anyone who's trying to learn Apex Legends. Still, this doesn't mean that she isn't capable of pulling off some crazy plays in the upper skill bracket, nor does she lose any utility compared to other characters. Here's a guide covering her abilities as well as some ability tricks that players might not know.
Apex Legends: Conduit Abilities
As a support class character, Conduit's main job is to take care of her teammates. She can still run and gun just like everyone else, though her kit is more suited toward helping allies than harming enemies (with her ultimate being a notable exception). Good aim and movement are still required to be an effective Conduit player, but proper use of her skills is what will truly bring out the most value from her.
The following is a brief overview of each of Conduit's skills, notes on how to use them, and some small details that could come in handy in clutch situations.
Passive - Savior's Speed
Conduit gains increased movement speed when running towards allies. This speed boost is comparable to Octane's Stim and Bangalore's Double Time, and Conduit can enjoy it without sacrificing health or needing to get shot by an enemy. The only requirement is that Conduit must look at an ally until the circular icon under their name is filled and that the ally in question must be outside of Conduit's Tactical range.
Savior's Speed is more of a repositioning tool than anything else. It won't work if Conduit is too close to her allies, and she needs to be looking at teammates for it to activate. This makes her an ideal sniper/marksman since she'll be able to easily relocate if she gets caught out of position.
Here are some things to keep in mind with Savior's Speed:
- The passive will only activate if the targeted ally is at least 50 meters away from Conduit.
- Savior's Speed will activate even while in combat.
- Use the bonus speed to boost movement techniques like superglides and tap strafes.
Tactical - Radiant Transfer
Conduit fires a beam that recharges the shields of herself and a targeted ally. The shield is temporary, and the restoration effect is gradual, not instant. When Radiant Transfer hits an ally, they immediately start gaining shields until their shield bar is completely filled up. This effect pauses when damage is taken and resumes shortly after.
Radiant Transfer can be divided into a charging-up and winding-down phase indicated by a green shield that appears on the lower left side of the screen whenever the ability is used. When it's charging up, players will gain shield charge out of combat or after one second of getting shot. When winding-down, Radiant Transfer will no longer grant extra shields, and existing temporary shields will slowly dissipate.
Tips:
- Conduit can recharge her own shields even without targeting an ally.
- Energy blasts travel through walls.
- Radiant Transfer's cooldown begins once the ability starts winding down.
- The charge-up phase lasts for eight seconds.
- Conduit receives 80 shields at 12 shields per second; allies receive up to 125 shields at 25 shields per second.
Ultimate - Energy Barricade
Conduit launches an array of shield jammers that slow and damage enemies within their radius, essentially creating an energy fence that's perfect for preventing pushes or locking down areas. Individual jammers can be destroyed.
Energy Barricade leans heavily towards the Controller-side of the spectrum — unlike the majority of other support legends' ultimates, this one focuses on denying space, which means it synergizes well with legends like Catalyst, Caustic, and Fuse.
Tips:
- Punch immediately after casting to launch only four jammers (three to the left, one to the far right) and consume only 50% Ultimate energy.
- Energy Barricade is best used in small rooms and final circle fights.
- Jammers take four seconds to activate.
