There are a lot of choices players can make in Anno 117: Pax Romana, but many of them have little to no effect on the gameplay, like when players must decide if Diana should attend the party or not in the Family Matters event. However, after reaching Albion, their decisions tend to have more consequences. One of the things governors must decide is what to do with the sacred tree in The Roots of Our Ancestors quest in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
A Beast Of Lore Quest Guide In Anno 117 Pax Romana
Players must bring a majestic beast to impress Athr in the A Beast of Lore quest in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
The Roots Of Our Ancestors Quest In Anno 117 Pax Romana
The first task in The Roots Of Our Ancestors quest in Anno 117: Pax Romana is to settle on the small, forested island in the middle of the province.
As the quest describes, the island is right in the middle of the map, but if you're unsure, it's the one with a marked tree on the island.
Sail there to settle on a new island in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Next, build houses to attract 30 Waders on the island of the sacred grove.
The next part requires you to decide between two routes:
- Build Fanum if you plan to keep the tree.
- Build Bardic Hearth and Woodcutter if you wish to cut the tree.
If you keep the tree and don't capture her people, Voada will be pleased, but you will lose access to the mines on the island.
If you keep the tree and capture Voada's spies, Voada will be angry, but you will still lose access to the area blocked by the tree. This is the worst outcome among the three.
Meanwhile, if you cut the tree, Voada will be angry, but you can now build on the entire island.
Once you decide what you're going to do, you need to collect the resources needed to proceed.
- If you build a Fanum, collect 5 Pigs for a sacrifice.
- If you're cutting the tree, either produce 10 Beer or exchange 5 Tile to buy 5 Wine from the Procurator.
Once ready, press on the Fanum to sacrifice the pigs, or the Bardic Hearth to encourage the wood cutters.
The Scathach Arrive
If you choose to sacrifice the Pigs, watch the festivities beside the holy tree until you get The Scathach Arrive choice.
The best choice is to let them make their sacrifices. You will get positive points with Voada, although you can't build past the grove on the island.
If you choose to seize and imprison them, the next step is to find 5 Spies of the Scathach watching the grove. Simply look for a group of people in red around the tree, then interact with them.
This choice will not only anger Voada, but also keeps the tree standing, meaning you still can't build past the tree.
The Root Of The Problem
Interact with the Bardic Hearth if you choose to steel the workers' spirits with Beer or Wine.
Next, choose to cut it down to chop the tree. Once the sacred grove is gone, you can build past it, giving you access to the mines and land that were previously blocked by the tree.
However, if you choose the Bardic Hearth by accident, you can still choose to come back later and interact with the Fanum, which will give you the option to run the diplomatic scenario. It's not recommended to do this intentionally, since you will lose your Beer or Wine for no reason.
