Should You Give Money To Emperor Lucius In Anno 117 Pax Romana
Emperor Lucius will abruptly ask for some money in the Anno 117: Pax Romana campaign.
How To Make Money In Anno 117 Pax Romana
Denarii is the currency that represents money or gold in Anno 117: Pax Romana. Players can see whether they're earning or losing money by checking the Balance tooltip at the top of the screen, to the right of their money count.
Here, players can see their income and expenses, helping them make a decision on what to improve or cut down.
To get more information about their income, players can press on the Island Income tooltip, located under the island's name. Here, players can get an idea about which buildings are the most or least profitable. Typically, residents' needs will provide the most income, along with some buildings' area effects.
Here are some ways players can improve their income and make money fast in Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Income Specialists
Some Specialists in Anno 117: Pax Romana can help increase income. For example, Gaius Julius Lupus increases the Income Area Effect for Markets in the range. Players can get Gaius in the Gemini in the Roughs event, which requires them to choose between Gaius or Brutus.
When playing the campaign, remember to remove your Specialists from assignments before moving to Albion.
Meanwhile, an Actuary directly increases income from residences, making them the perfect contender to fill the Governor Villa's Specialist slot.
Income Buildings
Some buildings, like the Market and Spinner, can increase income from the area. This is the best way to boost a city's income, but each building can only be affected by the same building once, so it's important to spread the Spinners to cover all areas while minimizing the overlap.
There are also buildings that have a significant income boost, but come with risks. For example, Brewery and Bakery can both provide +3 income to every building in the area, but they grant a -2 Fire Safety debuff, meaning it's not ideal to place a lot of them in compact areas.
Trade Routes
Players can also perform trades to earn Denarii in Anno 117: Pax Romana. By heading to another city's harbour, they can see some items that the city is buying. For example, in the campaign, Cnocnees of Albion is always buying Reed Shoes for 21 Gold.
If you go to your own Trading Post, you can see that the normal selling price is 14 Gold, which means it's better to sell the Reed Shoes to the city that needs them, rather than sell them randomly.
If a city requests an item infinitely, players can expect a slightly higher price. If a city requests a limited number of items, players can expect a significantly higher price.
Setting up Trade Routes can help make this process seamless, where the player's boat will automatically transport and sell the selected item to the selected city.
If you wish to produce an item but don't have the required resources, then you must find the required Island Fertility and settle on that island.
Alternatively, players can open up trades at their own Trading Post by pressing on an item and setting it for sale after it reaches a certain quantity.
Manual Trades
If you prefer doing things manually, then that's viable too. For manual trades, players can utilize harbors that are willing to buy anything, like the Procurator's Harbour in the campaign.
Trading Posts aren't generally open for trading by default. In some cases, you may need a trade permit to perform exchanges.
Fulfilling Contracts
Unlike trading, which may require a trade permit, contracts are less restricted. As long as you discover the city, you'll likely have access to the city's Lighthouse. Press on the Lighthouse to see a list of tasks that can be completed for gold rewards.
Disabling Buildings
If a city is producing too many resources, players can disable the building to stop the production, on top of removing the expense of that structure. This is especially useful when the island's storage is full.
