Solo Leveling is a brilliant anime that has shown incredible growth. It got on fans’ radar immediately after the premiere of its first season, and it has now become the biggest anime on Crunchyroll with its second season. No fan expected Solo Leveling to become as big as it is currently, but it has proven to appeal to a broad audience, even winning the title of Anime of the Year for 2025.
Undoubtedly, Solo Leveling is a sensation, largely thanks to its insane battles and fast pace. Not many anime can replicate what Solo Leveling has achieved so far, but there are a few that have a shot.
Kagurabachi
Kagurabachi is a brilliant manga that many fans are eagerly waiting for the anime adaptation of. Based on many rumors, that seems to be happening soon. The exact release date is yet to be confirmed, but when it does premiere, it could go on to become the new Solo Leveling.
Kagurabachi has some of the best battles in new shonen manga, and if it gets a good adaptation, it could reach new heights in popularity, and even compete with the likes of Solo Leveling or Jujutsu Kaisen. This story about sorcerers, heavily focused on swordsmanship, will have fans hooked.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint doesn’t yet have an anime adaptation, and neither has one been confirmed at the moment. However, it’s one of the most popular Manhwa series for a good reason. Its story and action are both incredible, and if it were to get a good adaptation, it could become the new Solo Leveling, and perhaps even the new biggest Manhwa-based anime, surpassing even Chugong's story in that regard.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint follows the story of Kim Dokja, as his world becomes the novel that only he has read — Three Ways to Survive in a Ruined World. Being the only one to know what will unfold, he is determined to change the ending.
Lord of Mysteries
Lord of Mysteries’s anime adaptation kick-started immediately after the conclusion of Solo Leveling Season 2. This story, based on a Chinese novel, has definitely gained in popularity over time. However, at the moment, Solo Leveling seems to be more mainstream overseas.
Nevertheless, this story, following Klein Moretti in a Victorian-style world with big mysteries and some captivating battles, will have fans begging for more content. At the moment, it only has one season, but more seasons are already confirmed to be on the way.
The Steller Swordmaster
The Steller Swordmaster is one of Webtoon’s most popular Manhwa series. To the surprise of many, it has been confirmed that it will be getting an anime adaptation through a collab between Webtoon and Warner Bros. When exactly the anime comes out is unknown.
Depending on how good it is, The Steller Swordmaster could go on to become the new Solo Leveling, and the modern face of all Manhwa-based anime series. Fans can’t wait for more information on this new adaptation.

Gachiakuta
Gachiakuta is a new anime that made its debut last year. It is quite easy to say that fans are already hooked on this series based on the manga of creator Kei Urana. The story of Gachiakuta follows Rudo in a dystopian world, where some are banished to live in slums for being the children of criminals. The world of Gachiakuta, just like Solo Leveling, is full of intense fights, though here, through the use of vital instruments.
Gachiakuta definitely had some of the best episodes and battles of 2025, and fans can’t wait for more. If this keeps up, Solo Leveling might be surpassed by Gachiakuta soon enough.
To Be Hero X
To Be Hero X is another major Chinese anime that fans have come to love. This anime series blew up in 2025, and it already has a Season 2 in the works, following its huge success.
With the likes of My Hero Academia ending, To Be Hero X has the perfect chance to dominate the superhero anime genre. While it doesn't share too many similarities with Solo Leveling, the fact is that it does feature some exciting battles and has a great power system. In the sense of being a modern series with shonen tropes, Hero X can certainly compete with Solo Leveling, and fans can't wait to see more of it.
Boruto
Boruto is certainly not a new anime series. It was always popular, as it carries on the legacy of one of the biggest anime series ever, Naruto. However, Boruto was never as popular as its predecessor, and its anime going on hiatus definitely didn’t help.
Now, fans anticipate its anime to return, following a 2-year hiatus. This is especially likely since a new Boruto manga, titled Two Blue Vortex has begun, with a much darker tone and bigger battles. Boruto could rise and become a series with battles on a similar scale to Solo Leveling. With better animation and by being turned seasonal, Boruto’s popularity could skyrocket, and fans absolutely cannot wait for its official comeback.
