This article contains spoilers for the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga.
When speaking of overpowered anime characters, one that always comes to mind is Son Goku, the main character of Dragon Ball. Goku had humble beginnings in the original Dragon Ball. Still, over the course of the story, he grew tremendously in strength, attaining levels that only a few could even dream of reaching. Goku has superior strength, speed, and durability to the majority of anime characters, but, of course, some still have a shot at fighting him or even taking him down.
In 2026, a new anime character has appeared with the potential to defeat Goku, and that particular individual is actually from Jujutsu Kaisen, an anime that, in many fans' minds, wouldn't scale to the power levels of Dragon Ball. Still, there exist broken abilities in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen that can most certainly take out even the mightiest characters, and one of the newest sorcerers in JJK, Takaba, can actually go on to defeat just about anyone, including Goku. Takaba made his debut in JJK Season 3 Episode 3, and he'll only grow in importance moving forward. His cursed technique, Comedian, has limitless potential.
Goku Is One Of The Most Overpowered Anime Characters of All Time
- Goku has Incredible Strength, Speed, and Durability
- One of the Strongest Martial Artists In Anime
Son Goku is quite an overpowered character from the Dragon Ball series. Over the years, Goku has shown some absolutely incredible feats of power, and this, combined with the cultural impact that Dragon Ball has, makes fans call him one of the strongest characters of all time in anime.
In the newest Dragon Ball Super series, Goku has gone on to fight against the likes of the Gods of Destruction, Beerus. His fight against Beerus was so intense that the Kais wanted it to be stopped, as the universe itself was being torn apart. Goku has the power to destroy planets with ease and even the whole universe.
In terms of Speed, Goku is definitely one of the fastest characters out there. He was always fast, even as a kid, but by the end of the series, his speed would go on to reach new heights, being far greater than the speed of light.
Even with all that, however, Goku is actually still far from being the strongest in his own universe. Of course, when compared to the average anime character, Goku stands as one of the strongest. That's precisely why fans would be surprised to see that a JJK character has a shot at beating him.
Jujutsu Kaisen Introduces New Overpowered Character
Takaba Makes His Entrance in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Episode 3
Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 kick-started recent, and with just a handful of episodes, it has introduced the fans to some of the most overpowered characters. One such character that was revealed in JJK Season 3 Episode 3 is Takaba. Known to be a comedian, Takaba doesn't even have battle experience. However, he still holds tremendously overpowered abilities.
To anime-only watchers, Takaba only appears as a failed comedian in the beginning. But, he is one of the participants in the Culling Game, even though he does not know it yet. Due to the Culling Game, his Cursed Technique has secretly been awakened, and it is quite easy to see why it is one of the most broken powers in the series. Takaba’s only weakness is that he does not fully realize his powers.
Takaba’s Powers Are Almost Boundless
Takaba Can Do Anything With His Cursed Technique
- Anything he finds funny can become real
- Takaba could defeat Goku if he found that funny
Takaba is a powerful character whose abilities could easily be described as boundless. In Jujutsu Kaisen itself, it could be said that Takaba's potential is even superior to that of the likes of Gojo Satoru or Ryomen Sukuna, and the reason why is clear.
Takaba has an ability called Comedian, and its powers are quite broken. He awakened this cursed technique shortly before the Culling Game and it allows him the power to manipulate reality itself. As long as Takaba finds something funny, it can become reality. This kind of power makes Takaba the most broken character in Jujutsu Kaisen and one of the most broken anime characters as well.
If Takaba were to find Goku's death funny, then Goku would simply die on the spot. So even though Goku is faster and far stronger than Takaba, as long as Takaba knows how to use his Cursed Technique efficiently, he would win this battle.
If Takaba found it funny to fight on even footing with Goku, then he'd just gain enough power to match Goku. He can even heal from near-death situations just by virtue of finding things funny.
In the Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Takaba was even able to revive characters that already died. His powers transcend even life and death. Fans don't even get to see Takaba use the full extent of his powers because otherwise, there would be no way to stop him. If Takaba were more serious about his abilities, he could go on to surpass the likes of Gojo and become the strongest sorcerer of all time.
Fans are definitely excited to see more of Takaba in the anime, but his true display of power is still far away. While Takaba will be active in the Culling Game, his true role will come only after Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 and the beginning of the final battle. Takaba will be absolutely massive in the defeat of one of the strongest characters around, and the fact is that he can achieve all that without even being fully awakened to his powers.
Some Jujutsu Kaisen Characters Only Stand A Chance Due To Hax Abilities
Takaba is definitely overpowered, but he is not the only Jujutsu Kaisen character with the potential to give the fans a good fight against Goku. Takaba has the best chance and might even do the impossible by winning, but there are other characters who could stand up to this overpowered Saiyan.
Gojo Satoru's powers entail the use of Infinity. When Gojo's infinity is activated, almost nothing can bypass it. Goku does not have any power that can go beyond Infinity, even though he is quite strong. At the same time, Unlimited Void can crush just about any brain, so a case can be made for Gojo if he isn't immediately eviscerated by Goku in battle.
Even then, characters in Dragon Ball sometimes defy logic itself, so it wouldn't be too surprising to see Goku negate Infinity as well. At the end of the day, Goku is quite a powerful character that fans absolutely love to see getting stronger and putting him up against different challenges. Goku will continue to grow stronger, and one day, probably become the strongest anime character of all time.
