8 Anime Better Than One Piece

One Piece is one of the most iconic and well-known series in the whole world. Eiichiro Oda's magnum opus is the best-selling manga by far, and fans can see why. One Piece has an incredible story, featuring beloved characters and incredible world-building that has kept its fans hooked for over 28 years now. It must be said that the manga is top-notch, and quite easily the best manga of all time. As far as manga goes, One Piece is the undisputed best. The same can't be said for its anime adaptation, sadly.

The story looks cute on the surface, but in reality, it has quite a dark side that is quickly displayed. This short story was masterfully adapted and has some of the highest-rated episodes of this year, and overall, it's more consistent than the One Piece anime, some of which is adapted horribly from the manga.

The animation in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is almost flawless, and brings the manga to life beautifully. Fans do hope Season 2 can keep up the quality.

Dandadan

One of the Most Popular New Anime Series

Dandadan became a huge hit with its first season last year, and the trend continued in 2025 when its second season dropped. Dandadan’s manga already had amazing art, but the anime still managed to elevate it to new levels.

Fans are obsessed with everything about it, especially the incredibly animated battles, such as the one that saw Okarun and Momo fight Turbo Granny. One Piece has some amazing battles too, but the quality drop from one episode to another is noticeable and the anime pacing is sometimes unbearable, something that doesn't affect series like Dandadan.

Solo Leveling

Solo Leveling is a controversial series, largely due to some fans not being convinced by its quality. It’s very popular, but fans often complain about its lack of interesting plot or characters. While that is a valid concern, Solo Leveling’s anime is still a breathtaking adaptation, especially when battles heat up. Jinwoo vs. The Ant King, a battle featured in Solo Leveling Season 2, was definitely the most popular and best-animated battle of 2025.

Jujutsu Kaisen

A Fighting Shonen with Incredible Animation

Jujutsu Kaisen is quite a well-known series now. Jujutsu Kaisen was blessed with one of the best, if not the best, anime adaptations of recent years. While Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 was alright, Season 2, under Shota Goshozono, was completely transformed. Jujutsu Kaisen is easily one of the best-looking modern anime, with great animation, amazing sound design, brilliant consistency, and everything else that a perfect adaptation could ask for. Even all that is nothing compared to what’s to come in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, which is releasing early 2026.
