The 1.2.0 version update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has come with many more upcoming events and characters appearing on players' islands. Two of these returning characters are the sketchy fox, Redd, and the nature loving sloth, Leif. However, some players have been struggling with finding these characters.

First off, players wanting to get this new content must have an internet connection with their Nintendo Switch and update the game to at least version 1.2.0. Afterward, all of the new content will become available in their copies of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. If players find that their update isn't downloading while connected to the internet, it's possible that another download for a different game is occurring and players should wait for it to be completed.

Leif is the host for Animal Crossing's nature day and a peddler of various plants that can be grown all over players' islands. After updating the game, Leif will appear on the island the same day as Isabelle or Tom Nook announces Nature Day.

Players can also sell their weeds for double the price to Leif if they're looking for some extra bells. Like other traveling salesmen, Leif won't appear if Nook's Cranny isn't built.

Redd

Getting Redd on players' islands requires a few more steps than Leif. For starters, players will need to have donated a certain amount of specimens to their museums before the process can begin. The exact number is unknown, but once that goal is complete and the game is updated to at least version 1.2.0, Blathers will tell the player that he wants to add an art exhibit to the museum.

The day after Blathers makes his wishes known, Isabelle will mention a suspicious character that's wandering the island during the morning announcements. This means that Redd is on the player's island. Talking to Redd will give player's the opportunity to buy a piece of art from him. After purchasing it, players can go to Blathers to see if the piece is real or not.

After this first purchase, Redd has the possibility on other days to dock on player's islands via the northern beach. From there, players can purchase one piece of art. As they can examine it beforehand, players wishing to fill out their museums should look carefully to make sure what they purchase is legitimate.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
