An Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan has created a concept for a new type of villager, a dinosaur; and the community is quickly becoming riddled with ideas for a hypothetical scenario in which dinosaur villagers would be added to the game. Animal Crossing; New Horizons, just like other entries in the Animal Crossing series, is a game in which the players inhabit an island and must live among other animals, although in this reality they also speak, wear clothes, and are all bipedal.

Although there are dozens of different of Animal Crossing villagers, fans still enjoy coming up with their own creations and sharing their designs online to get feedback from the rest of the community. In some games, it's not uncommon for fan creations to be seen by the developers and eventually added to the game. Certain Animal Crossing fan designs gain a lot of traction, so it could be possible that Nintendo could pick up and add them to future entries.

InkyCreatures, a member of the r/Animal Crossing subreddit, recently shared their own content with the community by posting concept art of a dinosaur villager. The image showed an adorable yellow triceratops villager with orange horns, white accents, and an orange and white dress. The title of the post hinted that they would like Nintendo to make this cute villager a possibility in Animal Crossing games.

The community took this concept art quite well, even though the top comment mentions that it would definitely be strange for dinosaur villagers to visit the museum and face their deceased ancestors. Besides this, nearly everyone claimed that it was adorable and needed to be in the game. Some of the fans even named it Sara, or Cera, as it would fit the pun theme of Animal Crossing villagers quite well. Gamers that think the idea of an Animal Crossing-like game with tons of cute dinosaur villagers sounds great should definitely check out Amber Isle, an indie game currently being developed that mixes the two concepts together.

The excitement that sparked in the community when presented with a dinosaur villager unveils that fans want more villager variety. Animal Crossing villagers aren't lacking in quantity, but unfortunately, there haven't been many additions in terms of animal species and personalities. In Animal Crossing: New Horizons there are only eight personality types and ten animal species (excluding robot villager varieties.) Hopefully, posts such as this one will point Nintendo in the right direction.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
