Animal Crossing: New Horizons has managed to impress many players. The social elements, tasks, and anthropomorphic characters have all earned Animal Crossing: New Horizons critical acclaim, and the game continues to move forward. The title is still receiving frequent updates that largely improve the experience, but sometimes new features can lead to issues. After the latest update, New Horizons was plagued by an issue where zen bridges had invisible walls that wouldn't let players walk across them, but it has now been fixed.
As the first main series title in eight years, New Horizons largely follows the legacy of the franchise and allows players to create an island that can be enjoyed by anthropomorphic characters. This has led to some interesting celebrity islands in New Horizons but players began to notice a problem with Zen Bridges last week after the summer update. In short, players could not properly use the construct.
The update fixes quite a few problems that were annoying players, and many will be pleased that Nintendo is committed to fixing relatively small issues. Considering there were concerns that Animal Crossing: New Horizons would struggle to update because of the coronavirus pandemic, many will be pleased that Nintendo is addressing issues so quickly. As a result, the title and its community are bringing joy to many players as they self isolate during this trying time.
The software update "Ver. 1.3.1" fixes many issues including:
- Addressed issue where players could not properly use a zen bridge or red zen bridge placed on top of a cliff (third tier).
- Addressed issue where a wet suit would not be available for sale within Nook’s Cranny.
- Addressed issue where hermit crabs would appear in places other than the beach.
- Addressed issue where a dialogue bubble would improperly appear after speaking with island residents.
Not only is there plenty of content in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but the community that plays the game is constantly using its tools to create entertaining original works. Alongside frequent updates that enable users, it seems that the game will have plenty of longevity going forward as the game strikes a balance between updates and fan-made content.
The fixing of the Zen Bridges, containment of hermit crabs, and wet suit availability will please fans who have been disappointed by the issues around them. Looking forward, it will be interesting to see what players do with these items and whether they will become part of the next piece of content that entertains the community and increases interest in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
