"Rubber(wo)Man" not only pays homage to AHS's iconic “Murder House” but also draws parallels between characters and themes from the original series.

According to TV Line, the new season of the popular spinoff series will be available on Hulu on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024. American Horror Stories season 4 will have five episodes and fans will be able to watch them all at once. While there are sometimes debates about whether streaming services should release episodes weekly or less frequently, these five episodes will be on Hulu just in time for a Halloween binge-watch. While a five-episode season might seem short, the other three didn't have a large episode count, either. Season 1 of American Horror Stories had seven episodes, season 2 had eight, and season 3 had only four. Since this is one of the best anthology TV series, shorter seasons work perfectly well and there doesn't need to be 10 or 12 episodes in order for the storylines to be powerful, effective, and scary.

According to TV Line, American Horror Stories season 4 will star June Squibb, Debby Ryan, Henry Winkler, Dyllón Burnside, Guy Burnet, Victor Garber, Angel Bismark Curiel, Jessica Braden, Jeff Hiller, and Dyllón Burnside.

The episodes will be centered around Halloween and will stream during the Huluween event, which features Hulu originals, family-friendly fare called "Frights For The Whole Family," and a great selection of horror movies. This is a smart idea since October is the time when everyone wants to rewatch classic horror franchises and also check out the latest horror TV shows. Huluween might not be new this year, but it's still exciting since everyone loves creepy content and wants to find it all in one place.

In 2020, when Ryan Murphy's spinoff series American Horror Stories was announced, he tweeted about what fans could expect. According to People, he wrote:

"We are doing 16, one-hour stand-alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore... Many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love."

This sentiment still rings true today, and every episode of American Horror Stories plays with horror tropes from haunted houses to mysterious online friends to characters finding a creature in the forest during a camping trip. Since American Horror Stories season 4 is about Halloween, the storylines could be about a party gone horribly wrong, a slasher villain who hides in plain sight, or any number of strange monsters. One thing is certain: fans are excited for October 15th.
