Summary

  • AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 graphics cards may have a price tag of $449 and $549 respectively, according to leaked information on Twitter.
  • The leaked performance numbers for the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 indicate higher performance than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060Ti.

AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 graphics cards do not have a release date yet, but the latest leaks have hinted at the price tag for the two cards. The information comes from a Twitter user without any source or reference so take it with a grain of salt. Recently, some performance numbers for the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 GPUs were leaked as well showing performance numbers higher than the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060Ti.

Last December, AMD unveiled its latest and greatest Radeon RX 7000 series of graphics cards to go against the green team’s GeForce RTX 4000 series. The red team's lineup included only three GPUs, the top-tier Radeon RX 7900 XTX and the Radeon RX 7900 XT, along with the baseline Radeon RX 7600, which left AMD fans wondering about the mid-tier segment. For quite some time now, there have been speculations about the company’s mid-tier offerings in the RX 7000 series and recently, the leaks started to pop up.

The latest leak around the upcoming Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 graphics cards is the price. A tipster on Twitter named ‘All The Watts!!’ Shared the expected pricing for the two cards, claiming that the Radeon RX 7700 will cost $449 and the RX 7800 will cost $549. The current lineup of AMD’s Radeon RX 7000 series cards includes the $269 (cheapest model at the time of writing) RX 7600, the $750 RX 7900 XT, and the $940 RX 7900 XTX. The leaked pricing seems to sit well in the lineup and the remaining gaps could be filled in with the XT and XTX models of the upcoming cards. Notably, there is no Radeon RX 7600 XT/XTX as of now.

AMD's Flagship RX 7900XTX is a behemoth that trades blows with Nvidia's RTX 4080 and sometimes the RTX 4090 and regularly comes out ahead versus the former.

With 24GB of GDDR6X memory and the latest in connectivity thanks to support for Displayport 2.1 backed by one of the best cooling designs we have seen on a GPU, the XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX Black 24G is a force to be reckoned with.

It is a marked improvement on everything that makes the 7900XTX such a potent performer, but better and faster than the stock unit.

As for performance, the same tipster also shared leaked 3DMark Time Spy scores for the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 earlier this week. According to the post, the Radeon RX 7700 scored 15465 giving it a comfortable lead ahead of the $399 GeForce RTX 4060Ti 8GB (12840) and almost catching up with the $599 RTX 4070 12GB (16379). As for the newly launched 16GB variant of the RTX 4060Ti, the RX 7700 outperforms it as well considering there is barely any difference between the performance of the 8GB and the 16GB model.

The MSI GeForce RTX 4060 VENTUS 2X BLACK 8G OC is an excellent GPU offering as far as RTX 4060 offerings go. It offers an excellent, balanced take on Nvidia's entry-level Ada Lovelace-based RTX 4000 series, offering low power consumption, a compact design, and a single 8-pin power connector to handle its power needs, making it a silent performer that delivers on its promise.

The Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GAMING OC 16G is the latest offering by Gigabyte in the RTX 4060 series. It is the 16GB VRAM version of the 4060 Ti that was launched back in May. With double the VRAM, it can outperform the 8GB variant in memory-intensive games and productivity applications.

Similarly, the rumored $549 Radeon RX 7800 scored 18957 which makes it a great value for money especially over the more expensive but less powerful RTX 4070. It also inches a bit closer to the much more expensive RTX 4070 Ti category which starts at $799. Compared to AMD’s own lineup, the Radeon RX 7900 XT has a Time Spy score of 22235 and the XTX model stands strong at 25175.

Again, the prices and performance numbers are just speculation and should only be used to get a rough idea of where these upcoming cards stand. As of now, AMD has not shared any information on the Radeon RX 7700 or RX 7800. AMD fans who can’t wait for the upcoming cards and don’t want to spend upwards of $700 on a GPU can still go for the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT which deliver comparable performance for about the same price, if not less, and are some of the best graphics cards to buy in the current market for gaming.
