The latest actor portraying video game icon Lara Croft has been revealed, and her voice will be familiar to fans of RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077.
Infact, Amazon is working on a Tomb Raider TV show that was announced back in 2023. Game of Throne s star Sophie Turner will take on the role of Lara in the upcoming TV show, and just recently, we got our first look at Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.
Sophie Turner Looks Fantastic As Lara In Amazon's Tomb Raider TV Series
Amazon's Tomb Raider series is still in early production, so details are scarce. However, the streaming platform recently gave us a first official look at Sophie Turner wearing the iconic Lara Croft outfit. From the shorts to the dual pistols to the shades, there's basically everything to get fans excited.
Lara Croft is a beloved video game character, so it's not surprising that the creators took their time with the casting. Until last year, Lucy Boynton was considered for the role, but the role eventually went to Sophie Turner, and frankly, Turner does look fantastic as Lara.
Talented screenwriter and actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge serves as the co-showrunner of Amazon's Tomb Raider, along with Chad Hodge. You might remember seeing Waller-Bridge in movies like Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and The Iron Lady. In addition to her acting roles, Waller-Bridge also wrote and produced several projects, including Fleabag.Some great talent is working on the series, so it can shape up really well – and just wait until you see the other incredible cast members confirmed for the upcoming series.

Sophie Turner will be joined by Avatar star Sigourney Weaver, who will play a character named Evelyn Wallis in the TV series. Wallis is an original character who Amazon describes as a "mysterious, high-flying woman who is keen to exploit Lara's talents." Jason Isaacs also joins the cast as Atlas DeMornay, who we all know as Lara Croft's uncle.
That's not all, as Bill Paterson is confirmed to play Croft's family's beloved butler, Winston. Finally, there's Martin Bobb-Semple, who will play Zip, the technical genius and an ally of Croft. Other cast members of the Tomb Raider TV series include Sasha Luss, John Heffernan, Juliette Motamed, Celia Imrie, Paterson Joseph, and Jack Bannon.
Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics are backing up the project with some great talent, and fans really hope that the show turns out to be great and runs for multiple seasons. That said, production for the first season has recently begun, so it's too early to expect any update on the release window.
