Amanda the Adventurer is a short, spooky game from publisher DreadXP. This quirky little horror game is filled with a number of different puzzles that players have to take on while stuck in a seemingly haunted attic. There are three total puzzles that require the use of the toy piano that is located near the table in the center of the attic, and two of these can be quite challenging. Players will need to solve both the first piano puzzle and the secret tape piano puzzle in order to get all the endings for Amanda the Adventurer.
The First Piano Puzzle: The In Your Neighborhood Tape
The first piano puzzle in this popular indie game is available only after players finish the Kitchen Video as intended, bake the apple pie, then watch the In Your Neighborhood Tape. During the tape, there are several shots of a street outside some stores. On the signs of each of these, there is one letter that is bold and black: C orner store, B akery, and post o F fice. This makes the code CBF.
After this video has been completed, turn around and look at the table. There is a piano there now; play the three notes on the keyboard. If played in order, the piano will open up and give players the next tape.
The Second Piano Puzzle: The Secret Turquoise Tape
After pausing the Kitchen Tape after the KNIFE section and setting the oven to 525 degrees, players will get the butcher version of the In Your Neighborhood Tape from making a meat pie. In this version, when Amanda enters the corner store, there are a series of notes above the card displays. For those who do not know how to read music, these notes read FACADE.
Pause the video and walk over to the piano; it will be to the player's left, past the couch. It will be right next to the digital clock that is needed to solve the Clock Puzzle in Amanda the Adventurer. Play the keys in the correct order to spell FACADE, and the piano will open up to reveal one of the five secret tapes in Amanda the Adventurer: the Turquoise Tape. The tape will not be revealed if the tape inside paused when these musical notes are on the screen.
In order to move on from there, players of this short horror game will need to watch the rest of the butcher version of the In Your Neighborhood Tape, then complete the coloring book puzzle that will be on the table.
