Deadzone Rogue is all about becoming overpowered, and while every gun in the game can become strong, Exotic weapons take things one step further. These weapons come with special perks that are unique to them, and they have crazy strong synergies with some perks and item effects.
Since Deadzone Rogue is a roguelite game, luck will play a part on whether players get an Exotic weapon during their run or not. More importantly, these weapons must first be unlocked before they start appearing on regular runs. This guide covers all the Exotic weapons in Deadzone Rogue.
Deadzone: Rogue Is A Space Station Deathtrap You’ll Keep Coming Back To
From stealth phases to molten shotguns, here’s what makes Deadzone: Rogue unique.
Darkseer EX2
- Complete "Harbinger" in Zone 3 to unlock.
The Darkseer is a DMR that consumes your shield to charge up its shots. While this may seem like a horrible thing to have, it's actually quite nice, as the gun also constantly recharges your shields while it's equipped. This may lock you out of items or perks that require you to have full shields, but you can always use something else to boost your damage.
Apart from the bonus damage, the passive shield regen makes the Darkseer very good for most scenarios. However, it may be a bit more cumbersome to use, as DMRs and snipers are less suited for close quarters compared to other weapons.
Plasma Cycler
- Complete "Redline" in Zone 2 to unlock.
The Plasma Cycler is an energy minigun that fires plasma balls at an extreme rate, and it deals 75% more Proc Damage too. It doesn't need to spin up like other miniguns, but the downside here is that if you miss with the Plasma Cycler, its accuracy goes down drastically. It's a bit weird having a minigun that relies heavily on precision, but it's a great weapon to use against big targets like bosses and elites.
If you want to give this weapon a spin, consider using Hipfire Augments and any item that decreases your weapon spread. The Plasma Cycler's accuracy penalty resets when you reload, and only when you reload manually, so avoid effects that automatically reload weapons when using this.
M-150 Headhunter
- Complete "Headhunter" in Zone 2 to unlock.
The Headhunter will have you doing exactly what its name suggests — click on heads. This weapon's special trait makes it deal guaranteed critical hits against Weakpoints, and apart from also doing extra Weakpoint damage, it'll refund bullets to its own magazine when you hit an enemy's soft parts. If you're a fan of sniper rifles, then the Headhunter is definitely something you should get.
This weapon is more in line with legendary or other special weapons from games like Destiny — the only real drawbacks of this gun are the fact that it's a sniper rifle and that you need to hit Weakspots for it to be good.
Iron Squires
- Complete "Dual Duel" in Zone 2 to unlock.
The Iron Squires are, as of writing, the only Akimbo-style weapons in the game. They're a pair of SMGs that can tear enemies apart with a hail of bullets. These guns come with a 100% increased Proc Chance, but if you miss your shots, their accuracy will suffer (this effect resets when you reload).
Like the Plasma Cycler, the Iron Squires benefit a lot from effects that reduce Weapon Spread. These are also great with any elemental build, especially if you can get items and perks that supercharge your magazine size.
Arc Lance
- Complete "Spearhead" in Zone 3 to unlock.
The Arc Lance is an exotic melee weapon that gives you a short burst of movement speed when you finish an enemy off with it. It's obviously great for melee-focused builds, but if you're using a Hipfire build or a weapon that works well in close range, you can use the Arc Lance to execute low-health enemies and still gain that speed burst.
The downside of this weapon is that if you miss, your movement speed is halved for two seconds. This can potentially end your run if you get caught out in the open, so make sure you have a plan for when things start going south.
Hammerhead MK9
- Complete "Triggerline" in Zone 3 to unlock.
While technically not listed as an Exotic, the Hammerhead might as well be one. It's a burst fire SMG for the secondary weapon slot that increases its own rate of fire when you hit all three rounds in a burst. However, if you miss your shots, its rate of fire will instead decrease.
You can make some silly bullet hose builds with the Hammerhead using Aiming or Ammo Augments, but it does rely a lot on you being accurate with your shots. Treat it like a DMR, and you'll be good to go.
