Remedy Entertainment has confirmed the pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Edition content for its upcoming survival-horror game Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake 2 was first announced in late 2021 with a brief teaser trailer that confirmed that the game was in development, but little else. The game made a return at the recent PlayStation Showcase to confirm many more exciting details about what the long-awaited sequel has in store.
The latest Alan Wake 2 trailer showed gameplay that looked not unlike the Resident Evil 2 remake. It also confirmed FBI agent Saga Anderson as a new playable character alongside the titular Alan Wake. The trailer made it clear that Alan Wake 2 is going to be a pure horror experience, and it left fans buzzing.
Those excited enough by the Alan Wake 2 trailer that they want to pre-order the game should note that two pre-order bonuses have been announced so far - the Ornate Revolver Skin for Alan Wake and the Survival Resources Pack for Saga. Also available come Alan Wake 2's October release date is the Deluxe Edition, which includes the Expansion Pass (Night Springs and Lake House expansions), Nordic Shotgun Skin for Saga, Parliament Shotgun for Alan, Crimson Windbreaker for Saga, Celebrity Suit for Alan, and Lantern Charm for Saga. The Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition will retail for $69.99 on PC and $79.99 on consoles, though it's unclear why there's a price discrepancy.

The price difference between the console versions of Alan Wake 2 and the PC port may stir up some controversy. As it stands, Alan Wake 2 has already experienced some backlash from fans. It's been confirmed that Alan Wake 2 will be a digital-only release, with no physical option available at all. It seems that this was a cost-saving measure, with Remedy explaining that such a decision has helped it keep Alan Wake 2 priced at $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on consoles.
Even though it's gotten some backlash, hype otherwise seems fairly high for Alan Wake 2. Alan Wake 2 more fully embracing the horror genre seems to be going over well, with many pointing to it as having potential to be the best new horror game release of the year. And since 2023 has been stacked with horror games, that's really saying something. Time will tell if Alan Wake 2 lives up to the high bar set by Remedy's previous work, but fans will find out later this year.
Alan Wake 2 launches October 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
