While playing through Alan's story Initiation in Alan Wake 2 players will have to find their way to the Oceanview Hotel to meet the mysterious caller. Upon arriving at the front door, the hotel will begin to reject Alan, refusing him entry through conventional methods. Players will have to find an alternate route into the hotel, using the rooftops to make their way to the hotel balcony.

While navigating the rooftops players will have to fend off shadows while solving two quick puzzles. One puzzle will involve the Angel Lamp and nearby lights, while the other will require finding a key code to unlock the balcony entrance. - here's how players can solve both quickly.

Rooftop Light Puzzle

As players cross the rooftops to find the entrance to the Oceanview Hotel in Alan Wake 2, they will encounter a roof area that seems to be accessible by a staircase, but that staircase descends to an impassable area. To progress forward, players will have to use the Angel Lamp and interact with the nearby lights to create a way forward.

Start with the light at the top of the staircase - turning this light on or off will alter the destination of the staircase. Players will want to initially turn this light off. This will take players to a small roof section just above the area players are trying to reach. There will be a second light just above this platform that players will want to turn off, spawning a staircase in the area below.

Go back through the door and up the stairs to the initial area - turn the overhead light back on to change the destination of the staircase and head back through the doors. Players will now be able to descend through the roof access area onto the Oceanview Hotel balcony.

Oceanview Hotel Balcony Key Code

Once players make their way to the balcony of the Oceanview Hotel, they will find the door to get inside the hotel is locked with a keypad that requires a four-digit key. There will be signs advertising the hotel's new Oceanview Cocktail scattered around the patio area - the clue to deciphering the key code.

To discover the code, players will first need to get behind the bar and acquire the double-barrel shotgun by changing the light in the storeroom by the patio area and turning it into a bar (turn the light back off while behind the bar to transform the area back to the storeroom while inside and grab the shotgun). While the light is on and the bar is present, players will find a menu hanging on the wall above where the shotgun was in the store room.

On the menu, players will find a variety of drink prices, including a price for the previously mentioned Oceanview Cocktail. Players will want to examine the menu and take note of the price of the Oceanview Cocktail, conveniently also four digits as the $25.50 price is the key code. Return to the keypad and input 2-5-5-0 and the hotel doors will unlock.
