After years of wanting and waiting, Star Wars fans will finally see Ahsoka Tano debut her own live-action Disney Plus series with Ahsoka. Although the character has been seen in many mediums, including The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, this new Star Wars series promises to be all about Ahsoka.

With a brand new Ahsoka trailer treating fans across the world, audiences will be deep diving into the trailer in search of easter eggs and things they missed. Whether that’s returning allies or returning foes, the Ahsoka trailer has plenty of exciting things to look forward to.

10 Sabine Wren

The first character that audiences might be familiar with is Sabine Wren, a character from Star Wars Rebels that was a good ally with Ahsoka Tano. Sabine is a Mandalorian who dedicates herself to artistry and rebellion. At a time, Sabine wielded the Darksaber and became a symbol to Clan Wren.

Sabine shares a deep bond with Ezra Bridger, and both she and Ahsoka promised to find Ezra, so it’s no surprise that she turns up for the Ahsoka trailer. Sabine will likely bring the artistic flair to her character once more in this live-action debut.

9 Chopper And Hera

Hera Syndulla is a brilliant pilot and is now a general in the New Republic. She appears alongside everyone’s favorite war criminal, C1-10P – “Chopper”. The two share a great bond, even if Chopper is mostly rude and sassy towards Hera. They are inseparable, and fans are excited to see what the duo gets up to in Ahsoka, and more excited to see Chopper’s lustful kill count grow.

These are two more characters that have not yet been seen in live-action, and it continues the return of a Star Wars Rebels live-action reunion, as Hera and Chopper were important characters in the show and they have a history with Ahsoka during their time in the Rebellion.

8 Shin Hati

A new character to debut in Ahsoka is Shin Hati, a human female that wields an orange-red lightsaber. It is currently unknown what Shin Hati’s motivations are, or her history, but what is known is the fact that she has an apprentice. Perhaps Shin Hati is a new form of Jedi, or, considering the rule of two, could well be the new iteration of Sith.

The character is seen chasing people in her starship, as well as storming an entrance with her lightsaber, a color that is not as red as a Sith. Perhaps she has a lot of learning to do in terms of channeling her Dark Side, but it will be interesting to learn more about her.

7 Baylan Skoll

The master to Shin Hati, Baylan Skoll appears to be the biggest threat to Ahsoka Tano, as he approaches her with an ignited orange-red lightsaber. There are already many theories surrounding Baylan Skoll’s identity, as it is clear that Dave Filoni is taking inspiration from Timothy Zahn’s “Thrawn Trilogy”, so perhaps Baylan will be revealed as Joruus C’Baoth.

It is hard to tell what Baylan’s motives are, or who he is, as Filoni himself has already said that revealing anything is a spoiler. However, if Baylan is indeed Joruus, then fans can expect a somewhat deranged and exiled clone of a former Jedi that has now become a Sith.

6 Mon Motha

Mon Mothma was a figurehead of the rebellion and now leads the New Republic into an age of peace and democracy. Mon Mothma has been in this fight for decades, and it will be great to see her return in Ahsoka. She has been allied with Ahsoka Tano before, so many are intrigued to see how their friendship has grown, and if she has a specific mission for Ahsoka.

Mon Mothma has appeared in many Star Wars productions, including the mainline film series and Andor. Seeing Mon Mothma in Ahsoka will be the first time that audiences will see her post-Return of the Jedi, and see her stance on a changing galaxy.

5 Thrawn’s Return

For decades, Grand Admiral Thrawn has been missing. He was a brilliant tactician and military mind that was essential to the Galactic Empire, and with his loss, it was only inevitable that the Empire would fall. Thrawn went missing after Ezra Bridger trapped Thrawn and himself with the purrgil, and he was transported across space to the Unknown Regions.

However, now that the Galactic Empire has returned, it seems as if Thrawn is back, with loyal allies coming to return him as Heir to the Empire. It’s worth noting that Lars Mikkelsen is reprising his role as Thrawn for live-action, complete with blue skin and red eyes.

4 Ezra Bridger

One of the motivations for Ahsoka in the series will be to finally find and bring home Ezra Bridger. This is a common goal shared by the Ghost crew, and Sabine looks fondly at a hologram projection of Ezra Bridger from the last time she saw him. Ezra wears his classic uniform and buzzcut in the hologram, which begs the question of how much has he changed in this decade since his disappearance.

The arrival of Grand Admiral Thrawn brings forth worry that if Thrawn has returned, then where is Ezra Bridger? Answers are sure to come as the show releases every week, but considering audiences have seen the character in a hologram, it’s inevitable that he will be found.

3 Sith Inquisitor

In the Ahsoka trailer, the titular character is seen fighting someone that wields an Inquisitor lightsaber and the armor of one too. What’s worth noting is that the Inquisitors would have no place in the galaxy anymore, as the Emperor and Darth Vader have been dead for years. However, there are plenty of characters that might hold a grudge against Ahsoka Tano.

Upon first inspection, the unknown Sith Inquisitor looks to be the Eighth Brother. This character was seen in Star Wars Rebels, but supposedly fell to his death, however, the appearance is identical. Or, this could be a disguise for a friend turned foe with Barriss Offee.

2 Morgan Elsbeth

As seen in The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano battled with Morgan Elsbeth over the information about the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn. It seems as if Morgan Elsbeth is a loyal ally to Thrawn, as she was part of the Galactic Empire before reigning as the magistrate of Calodan on Corvus. She is talented with a weapon and wielded a beskar spear during a fight with Ahsoka Tano.

Morgan Elsbeth makes a villainous return in the Ahsoka trailer, standing on a starship and looking out into the vastness of space. Perhaps she has left Calodan in servitude to Thrawn and will prove herself a worthy adversary to Ahsoka, and a loyalist to Thrawn.

1 Professor Huyang

professor huyang in live-action

For centuries, Professor Huyang has guided Jedi of new and old through the history and architecture of lightsabers. Huyang designs and constructs lightsabers for those that complete their training and receive a Kyber crystal of their own. His memory is so vast and spanning that he has knowledge of every lightsaber ever constructed, and a bag that has everything he needs to create a new lightsaber.

Huyang’s guidance of younglings has spanned such a large amount of time, that is he a valued historian of the Jedi Order, especially after Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. The return of Huyang implies that a new Jedi Order is on the horizon, and an exciting one, considering the return of David Tennant as Huyang’s voice.

Ahsoka will premier on Disney+ August 2023.
